Hey tea partiers, you say you want a revolution? Well, you know Rep. Rob Wittman (R-VA) understands.

At a recent town hall meeting in his Montross, VA-area district, Wittman told an angry constituent he sees where conservatives looking for an actual fight with their government are coming from. Told by a tea partier that the government is "gang-raping" the people and that it's getting close to time when "people will have no recourse but to take things into their own hands," Wittman wasn't fazed.

His response to the tea partier's call for revolt? "Good point."

From the account of the meeting published in the Fredricksburg, VA Free Lance-Star:

"The federal government is gang-raping the people," said Mark Carpenter of Acorn, a Westmoreland County community--not the controversial Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now.

"We're headed where the people will have no recourse but to take things into their own hands," said Carpenter.

"Mark, that's a good point," said the unflappable Wittman. "A lot of people don't feel connected with their elected representatives. As elected officials, we need to re-establish that connection, like we're doing here tonight."

And to think Wittman is going to be the commencement speaker for the Fall graduation ceremony at Virginia Commonwealth University! What a sad reflection on education and critical analysis that is.

I'd like to see video, because I have to say it sounds like he was just trying to defuse a kook by saying:

I agree with what you just said, and what you just said is that more legislators should be like me.

Not that I want to be an apologist for this guy.
