The new Rasmussen poll of the Florida Republican Senate primary has big news for conservative insurgent candidate Marco Rubio -- he's now tied with moderate Gov. Charlie Crist, the favorite of the GOP establishment.
In the new survey, the two each have 43% support, with a ±5% margin of error. Back in October, Crist was ahead by 49%-35%.
Rubio has been hammering Crist over his having campaigned alongside President Obama for the stimulus bill. And it seems to be working. The primary will be held on August 24, 2010.

So when are Dems going to field a real candidate to beat Rubio?

Let's let Crist and Rubio have at it first, and Pass the Popcorn!!
I want to see the fearsome Rubio Wingnut throatgrab and gonad aqueeze, taught to him personally by "Dick" Cheney, and Crist break the hold with the Frist two-and-a half spin and twist.
This promises to be loads-a-fun. Me? I intend to send money to both.

Again, though, who's going to run a credible race from the Democratic side? A *whole* lot of people think this fellow Meeks can't win. I don't know at all, but this is what people are saying.
It's great to get Rubio nominated. Now who's gonna knock him off his Club for Growth/teabagger pedestal?

Well, Rubio is hot. That's worth at least 5 points. And Crist looks orange. Minus 3.

Both are dorks. I haven't seen the haircut on Rubio since I was in 3rd grade. And Crist is browner than the Hispanic candidate. No doubt many conservative voters think that Crist is the Hispanic one. Hence the poll numbers.

Given that this is a Rasmussen poll, Crist probably still has somewhere between 5 and 10 percentage points on Rubio...

No problem, all Crist has to do is add an "h" to his name.
