We asked MSNBC's Rachel Maddow for a response to the Tea Party Nation banning her from their site, and she suggests the idea is so ridiculous they made it up as a publicity stunt.
"I used to be an activist, too, so I understand the strategy of using the name of a well-known person to try to get publicity," Maddow told TPMDC in an email.
"Of course, this idea of me trying to join their listserv is completely made up, but still -- I'm flattered the Tea Party folks think I'm well known enough to help their cause," Maddow wrote. "I wish them all best luck with their conference."

Whoa, aside from a missing period and a few incorrect capitalizations, that's almost a coherent sentence, inokeah. Good job!

Might it be that the decision either way is to be made by Congress instead of by the Executive branch?

I can see the site admins now: "What, that wasn't the real Rachael Maddow? Why would someone ever use a fake name on the Internets?!?"
So I guess we just need to go and make accounts with names like Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck, Teddy Roosevelt (even though he's dead) and they'll treat us like real Americans. Then we can start spewing liberalism and ruin the Tea Party's perception of these past and current heroes.

TR says he's got better things to do that mess with a bunch of kooks. I mean, the former Prez has got standards.
P.S. Since nephew Franklin went Dem, he hasn't been following the GOPers much.
P.P.S. He voted for Obama in 2008.

Franklin and Theodore were fourth cousins, once removed; Theodore was Eleanor's uncle. Franklin and Eleanor were fifth cousins.

Ok, so maybe Teddy is in a bit of a gray area. He was a bit of an environmentalist, after all. As all good Tea Partiers know, the Environment is a Bad Thing, and is only used to increase our taxes.
Let's go with Jackie Robinson then.

Usually so civil. It's fun to watch her lose it, in her way. I was waiting for her to tell Tim Phillips to meet her out back. But, calling him a parasite in such a calm voice was pure enjoyment. And then her interview with the "ex"gay guy that wrote the book (sorry, forgot his name). "DUDE!! It's in your BOOK!" Classic Maddow.

What I never understand about the right and their blogs is they are so afraid of debate or criticism. You go to a site like dailykos or this one and Repubs are around making comments and people push back but unless they are completely rude they are allowed to comment. You go to redstate or any teabag site and disagree and you find yourself out in minutes. You say things like, "I don't think your points are based in fact" and suddenly they say "We will not stand for these vicious attacks!" These people are so afraid of everything it is often shocking.

I think it's the smarter ones of the bunch taking advantage of the mindless followers.
If you let a truth-teller into the room, the followers might get the wrong idea and start looking elsewhere. Or the truly indoctrinated see the site as compromising and go looking for a more hardcore venue.
If you keep the site pure, though, they all keep coming back and generating ad revenue.
These people don't want discussion, they want to be reassured that their wacko worldview is the 'right' one. Of course that could be said of a lot of people on the opposite end of the spectrum, too. I think those of us in the middle are varying shades of amused, perplexed, confused, and disgusted with all of it.

Of course they don't want any opposing points of view. It might make their followers begin to question their rock headed ideas. They have to keep their sheeple docile and well fed on their propaganda Soma.
