Frequent White House critic Rep. Peter King (R-NY) said today on ABC's "Good Morning America" that President Obama should use the world "terrorism" more frequently.
Host George Stephanopoulos interviewed King, who said someone should be held accountable in the wake of the failed terror attempt on Flight 253.
The host asked "one other specific recommendation the president could implement."
"One main thing would be, just himself, to use the word 'terrorism' more often," King said.
A quick search shows that Obama used the word "terrorism" at least seven times in less than a month, including during his Nobel Peace Prize acceptance speech and when announcing his new plan for more troops in Afghanistan.
Some Republicans have incorrectly claimed Obama doesn't use the word at all.

Is this the same Peter King who was such a strong supporter of the IRA that he was subjected to strip searches?
And his first suggestion to the president is to use the word "terrorist" more? This is beyond absurd at this point.

It's not terrorism when you support the cause. My terrorists are heroes who should get due process. Your terrorists don't deserve trials.
By the way, shouldn't King be the first to realize that the IRA gained support because terrorism suspects were so badly treated by the British government?

I take it from the brevity of this post that Stephanopoulos didn't ask King how saying "terrorism" more would make us safer? Or why he's demanding more accountability for the response to an unsuccessful terrorist attack than he ever did for the response to the successful 9/11 attacks?
Perhaps if Obama established a new White House group of national security monks to ceaselessly chant "terrorism", and awarded Janet Napolitano the Medal of Freedom, he would be sufficiently Bush-like for King's taste.

When you get to the airport to fly off to Yemen, don't forget to "stay safe" by saying TERROR or TERRORISTS or TERRORISM when they tell you to take your shoes off.
Tell them you're just following Peter King's wishes.

Would be friggin hilarious, though...later. Much later. After the interrogations and stuff. And as long as the screener didn't need any medical attention or anything. Long term anti-psych meds...that kinda stuff.

Not only will it make terrorism go away but Dorothy will get to go home, Clarence will get his wings, Rocket from "Little Einsteins" will blast off, and everybody will get a pony. If we say it enough times, Rudy will be resurrected from his political death, rise to the big Emergency Command Center in the sky (located, of course, in the spirit of the old WTC 7) and become the God of 9/11.

Deep-fried foods might do the trick. He hasn't had a heart attack in a while. And I don't care how offensive that is. There is a special place in hell for Cheney.

The above link is to the article that first ruffled Republican feathers. Just as passing along a phrase from person to person to person most often gets distorted by the time the last person says it, the same is true in this case. It is the term "war on terror" that the Obama memo shuns and not the word "terrorist"
