It was a rough week for Tea Party Nation.
The group first accused MSNBC's Rachel Maddow of joining as a sort of liberal spy, and after TPMDC's coverage of the issue (and Maddow denial) the site seems to have gotten a flood of liberals engaged in apparently suspicious activity.
Organizers with Tea Party Nation, planning a convention in Nashville next month starring Sarah Palin, sent out an email blast late Friday detailing what they have seen, and noted they will "correct these problems."
"They have joined en masse, coming on the site to offend, disrupt and interfere as much as they can," organizers wrote. "They have uploaded inappropriate content, sent us obscene messages and even uploaded pornographic images."
Organizers lament the corrections may slow what has been "phenomenal growth."
The message, which we obtained as a member of the email list, is in full below.
A message to all members of Tea Party NationFriends, over the last 36 hours, our site has been attacked by liberals. They have joined en masse, coming on the site to offend, disrupt and interfere as much as they can. They have uploaded inappropriate content, sent us obscene messages and even uploaded pornographic images.
We are taking steps to correct these problems.
We want to take this opportunity to thank those who have become members of Tea Party Nation in the last few days. Before our site was assaulted, our growth had been phenomenal. Our precautions are going to slow our growth, but ultimately will keep TPN the site that you want it to be.
Visit Tea Party Nation at: http://www.teapartynation.com/?xg_source=msg_mes_network
Last week Keith Olbermann talked about our coverage of the issue and teased Maddow about the tea party group using her name.

The tea party movement needs bogymen to maintain that air of being persecuted that unites them. So the organizers probably make these posts themselves.
Or maybe the posts come from real "conservatives" who seem to have a lot of affairs, sex in men's rooms, and interest in underage pages; conservatives who like porn are not hard to imagine.

Oh, by the way - their site is actually pretty easy to mess with. You can upload pretty much any picture you want. My favorites have been all the old Rush and W cartoons. I was going to upload a batch of pics showing all the misspelled "Keep Your Guvmint Hands Off My Medicare" signs but I figured they'd never get it. You also can join in on any of the "discussions" currently underway as well as starting your own threads.
The down side to all the fun is that they're really touchy and quick to ban people for very innocuous comments. My advice is, don't be innocuous. Spoof 'em, punk 'em, openly mock them. Then when they ban you, clear out their cookies and start over. It gets boring, but it gives them something to shriek about.

They're full of crap. They're blatantly playing the victim card with one they think cannot be trumped. Here's why I got kicked off --
I posted a question asked whether those who participated in the Whiskey Rebellion in the 1790s (threatening to tear the nation apart) or George Washington for repressing the rebellion and holding the states together were the real patriots? I then got a single response stating that the true patriot was Washington, and the revenue the government was seeking to raise was legitimate. I then asked a follow up question, asking if it was okay then to pay taxes as long as one agreed with where the money was being spent.
That was all it took. They cut me off just like that.
So, the whining and crying and wringing of hands about pornographic images is baloney. Apparently making someone stop and THINK is considered offensive and disruptive interference.

Thinking, thought, and education are the most offensive thing to the Tea Partiers. And that is why they are dangerous for our nation.
More GW style borrow and spend policies will not serve the nation well, no matter how many people we execute or inprison in the meantime.

I suspect most of the attacks are just typical web fun - you can't put up anything public these days without getting inundated with crap, satire and porn. Especially if you show you have a thin skin about it. Unlike, say, "Operation Chaos" and other Rushie led stupidity. The problem is, most people with the time to waste doing this are liberal to anarchist, so it is probably accurate to say they were "attacked by liberals" even though most of it has nothing to do with overt politics.

They obviously know nothing about computer security. Whenever an organization or corporation (especially one that is notoriously 'holier than thou') makes a big media stink about "banning" dissenters from their ranks it becomes an open season for hacking that site/listserv. The political motives of these attackers are almost 100% subjugated to the urge to screw with some self-righteous noobs.

I am really surpised at the outrage the TPN is displaying. How can they be so upset by a little disruption and interference when those were the very same tactics they were told to use during the HCR townhalls this past summer? These guys don't realize that we agree with 90% of their issues, but less than 1% of their solutions. We liberals could actually restore America if they'd cooperate, and hopefully, any way.
Well, we can't help them with the racism, xeno- and homophobia.
But don't we all want to control the bankers and skimmers (ins. cos.), restore the middle class, put everyone to work, make health care affordable, and defend the nation without ruinous debt?
They'd rather pay for Rush's drug habit, Sarah's moose hunts, and Orly's legal bills; I don't know why.

This is the only thing liberal scum can do to protect the coming dictatorship under Nazi George Soros and Obama's banking euro-trash friends.
Sad to say, this will affect all of us, the damage they are doing. Congress is forcing Americans to have health insurance -- and prove it on their tax returns or face a fine. The Internal Revenue Service will enforce this new health insurance mandate.
The health care reform bill deal would require the IRS to dole out taxpayer dollars -- subsidies -- to low-income Americans to help them pay for health insurance, administer tax credits to small businesses to help them offer health insurance to workers and collect billions of dollars in new taxes on employers, insurance companies and medical device companies.
The American Cancer Society and American Heart Association, say the Senate ObamaCare bill penalizes people for not losing weight, reducing their blood pressure or going to the gym.
(So all you fat lefties in your mother's basements beware!)
The ObamaCare compromise also seeks to force insurance companies to cut or eliminate profits and effectively becoming private federal agencies.
These and other details that are part of the compromise amount to nothing more than a backdoor deal for Nationalized Healthcare Enforced By The IRS and is nothing more than a Public Option socialized government run healthcare.
ObamaCare funding is more than $1 Trillion short and cannot be paid for without new taxes.
Obama and Democrats in Congress are ignoring plan details and adding more than $3000/yr of debt to every American.
Obama has lied again by pushing massive tax increases on every American earning less than $250,000/yr. Every Person will be hurt with increased costs of an out of control Government Run Health Care bureaucracy.
This is the end of free America when the government can pick and choose who lives and dies by virtue of who is dealt hereditary conditions, due to no fault of their own. I guess it's Soros' way of weeding out the unwanted. HITLER DID IT. It's called eugenics...
And you tools love it... sad.
