Sarah Palin will be visiting Florida this weekend, and will also be making another appearance there next month -- but the media are not allowed to cover these events, the Orlando Sentinel reports.

Palin will attend the Daytona 500 this weekend, and on Sunday will give a speech to the Daytona Regional Chamber of Commerce's annual dinner. On March 12, she will speak to the Orange County Republican Committee's Lincoln Day Dinner. Tickets to the Daytona event, which is sold out, cost $150. The Orange County event has a ticket price of $250.

The media is not allowed in, and audio or video recording equipment are not allowed; if reporters do wish to see the speech, they would have to buy tickets, and take notes on paper. These conditions were set by Palin's agents, not by the sponsors. "These are the terms of the contract that were presented to us," said Orange County Republican Party Chairman Lew Oliver.

Why would Lady Sarah want lamestream media yappers hanging around? They gonna report their own fantasies and prejudices about her, anyhow. The real story is how a free-spirited, liberated girl from the far Northwest can evoke such love and unity in the deep Southeast of our great country.

Girl? You are aware that this "girl" has had several children, aren't you?

You're either an ignorant sexist or an illiterate stooge. The former seems likely since I can't imagine even you approve of girls having children.

Oh, I think you hit the daily double. Both are accurate. Sexist and illiterate. You sir are a winner. Congrats.

I'm going for the trifecta. I'll throw racist in there as well.

You would think that, if the "lamestream media yappers" were going to report untrue things about her appearance there, it might be to her advantage to allow her words to be recorded in full so that people would know what she really said.

Or would that make it worse?

Oh, no, please don't record and broadcast my words. Please, for the love of all that is holy, don't go to the trouble of openly defying a no-recording rule by surreptitiously recording my words and posting them on the internet. I'm begging you, please don't underscore the point that I'm an incredibly influential person by recording and rebroadcasting my words in the name of public-interest journalism even though I've asked you not to.

Palin's not going to say anything to these guys that she wouldn't say in an open forum. If the entire audio file isn't splashed over all the political sites within five minutes, her staff will leak it themselves, probably from "secret_liberal_infiltrator@gmail.com"

"I'm going to be speaking about things that are SO important and revealing that I don't want anyone but you "special" guys and gals to hear me! Aren't we special? Our own little super-duper secret club of true Americans? We are so patriotic that we should hide and only speak to each other or those evil Democrats and city-dwellers will take our precious words and parse them!"

What a farcical, self-centered, deluded little bitch.

It's probably just me but lately when I've seen Palin speak on video, she's seemed a touch defiant and insecure. After seeing herself on TV so much, she MUST be aware how unknowledgeable she appears. She has to find her inability to answer hard questions terrifying. At some point, unless she finds par quickly, there will come that ONE DEFINING MOMENT in which, by opening her mouth the wrong way, she loses everything. No doubt this fear is the reason Palin locks out those who would report what she says.

Palin is locking out the press for the same reason she wrote on her hand: it stirs up the media and keeps her in the news cycle.

Palin is locking out the media so she won;t be seen by the public to be the idiot she is and has demonstrated herself to be every time she speaks in a televised setting. It's bad enough for a small paying audience to see she'd an idiot, but she wants to keep it from the American people as much as possible

She doesn't need biased reporting. Or, maybe she does... it's great to show that she is the "UNDER GIRL".
