Rep. Betsy Markey (D-CO), a Blue Dog who voted against the health care bill in November, says she will vote for the new bill.

Markey told The Coloradoan today that she made the decision after seeing the Congressional Budget Office's cost estimates.

"Particularly in the out years there's significantly more deficit reduction and I have to say this is going to be the largest deficit reduction bill that I will ever vote for," Markey said.

Markey is the third Democrat to switch from a "no" to a "yes," following Dennis Kucinich and Bart Gordon. The switches bring Democrats that much closer to clinching the bill.

The switch is being promoted and praised by the White House, which sent the Coloradoan article to reporters.

"Throughout this process, Congresswoman Markey has consistently worked to improve this legislation and fought to ensure that health insurance reform legislation met tough standards of fiscal responsibility and deficit reductions," White House spokesman Adam Abrams told the paper.

Earlier today, Vice President Biden suggested that the new CBO scores might bring around fiscally conservative Democrats who were nervous about costs.

Good for her. I was beginning to wonder if the (D) after her name was a typo.

There's hope for her yet. She spent enough time last summer flirting with the teabaggers around here to give us good reason to wonder just how she was supposed to be an improvement over Marilyn Musgrave.

Then again, she will have nowhere near the enthusiastic support she enjoyed when she won back in 2008, in large part because of her footdragging on this bill and her continued lame attempts to appeal to that small contingent of voters who will never ever vote for a D anyway.

The 4th congressional district for CO polls show the majority of voters against the HC bill.

Markey votes against the will of her constituency.

Markey will be voted out of office effective November 2, 2010.

Another blue-dog democratic commits career suicide by siding with Obama.

The "D" next to Markey's name stands for "DOOMED."

It'll be a sad day for Ms. Betsey Markey come November 2. She'll be joining the ranks of the unemployed adding to the long lines of those who have become the victims of an ill advised administration, choosing to focus on an unwanted approach to health care reform. I find it extremely hard to believe how gullible many of our elected officials can be, however when one considers how gullible her supporters have also been I guess it's unfortunate but understandable!
