Outcrazying The Crazy: How A Prankster Plans To Infiltrate And Destroy The Tea Party Movement

Jason Levin, leader of Crash The Tea Party

Meet Jason Levin, quite possibly the scariest man in the tea party universe. An Oregon technology consultant, Levin is the leader of Crash The Tea Party, a plan to take down the tea party from the inside. Levin says he's got a growing cadre of supporters across the country, and conservatives from the message boards to the set of the Sean Hannity's show are getting nervous.

"Our plan is not to shout them down," Levin told me yesterday, "but to infiltrate them and push them farther from the mainstream."

The scheme reads like a sequel to "Being John Malkovich": Levin's group of protesters plan to get in the heads of tea partiers at the Tax Day Tea Parties nationwide Thursday and manipulate them right out of relevance. They'll dress like tea partiers, talk like tea partiers and carry signs like tea partiers. In fact, according to Levin they'll be completely indistinguishable from tea partiers, except for one thing -- they won't be out-crazied by anyone.

"Our goal is that whenever a tea partier says 'Barack Obama was not born in America,' we're going be right right there next to them saying, 'yeah, in fact he wasn't born on Earth! He's an alien!" Levin explained. He said that by making the tea parties sound like a gathering of crazy people -- his group's goal -- the movement will lose its power.

Levin said he got the idea from a counter-protest to the infamous Westboro Baptist Church group held outside Twitter headquarters in January. Levin said the Westboro group broke up after counter-protesters showed up holding signs "even crazier" than the ones held by the Westboro group. "They realized they couldn't get their message out, so they just left" Levin said.

On the Crash The Tea Party website, managed by Levin, he explains how the plan will work. "Whenever possible, we will act on behalf of the Tea Party to exaggerate their least appealing qualities (misspelled protest signs, wild claims in TV interviews, etc.)"

[TPM SLIDESHOW: Top 10 Tea Party Signs]

"The lower the public opinion of them goes, the less coverage they're going to get in the mainstream media," Levin said when I asked him about the plan. "Then the GOP stops listening to them and they disperse and they go back to their militias and cabins in the woods."

He emphasized that his group is non-violent, and not interested in "perpetuating racism, homophobia or misogyny." Levin said that "members are free to do as they wish," but if violence breaks out at a tea party rally on Thursday, or more epithets like the ones thrown around during the health care debate are heard, it won't be because of his group.

He explained the distinction to me this way: If you see someone wearing a Nazi uniform at a tea party, it could be one of his members. If you see some one wearing a Nazi uniform throwing a rock, it's definitely not one of his members.

I asked him if he was worried publicly proclaiming that the most extreme people at the tea party rallies could be plans plants might help the movement he's trying to destroy. The tea party movement is struggling with its own identity, and some in the movement have already claimed that some of the darker chapters in its history (such as the death threats that came after the health care vote) were fantasies created by liberal infiltrators. Levin said no matter what the tea parties say about his plans, it's a "win-win" for his group.

"What can they say?" he said. "Either we've infiltrated their group so pervasively that they might as well hang it up, or we haven't infiltrated them that much they really are just racists."

Levin said he has 66 member groups (and growing) across the country planning to fan out at tea party gatherings on Thursday.

And while it's not clear how big the group actually is, or how serious the effort will be, the idea has already set off a small panic among tea partiers and their supporters. Upset tea partiers have posted Levin's address and phone number on the FreeRepublic.com message boards, leading, he said, to "silly threats" against him and his family. On Friday, Sean Hannity attacked the group in a segment on his radio show. And tea party groups across the country are warning their members to be on the lookout for the infiltrators. In Oregon, a tea party group has said it plans to get the police involved if they catch any of Levin's organizers.

Levin said all the attention just serves to make his plan more successful.

"How do you spot a fake tea partier? Do they have a tea bag tattooed on their forehead?" he said. "Thanks to us, the next time you're at a tea party and you see a guy with a misspelled sign you'll have to say 'is this guy an idiot? Or is he just an infiltrator?"

Late Update: Dave Weigel reports on FreedomWorks' plan to expose infiltrators like Levin and capture them on video at the Tax Day rallies on Thursday. The group is taking Levin's plan -- and the possibility of other infiltrators -- pretty seriously, and is planning to point out and confront anyone with a "racist or offensive" sign at a rally on Thursday.

Later Update KATU-TV's Anita Kissée caught up with Levin at home in Oregon. Check out the video here.

Late late update: Levin, who teaches media technology to middle schoolers, is being investigated by his school district after the district received a deluge of calls, many from tea partiers.

Doesn't this defeat the purpose? We want the tea-baggers to remain just as outrageous as they are for as long as possible....they don't need any help in that. They are the gift that keeps on giving , just the way they are.

When you tell a bunch of paranoid nutters that you plan on infiltrating their movement, it makes them even more paranoid. It also will likely force the groups to create bureaucracies in order to police their own members, which undermines the argument that these are "leaderless grassroots movements."

Yep. This is brilliance because now this group doesn't actually have to be at any of these events !
The shear idea that ANY of the people standing next to you at a Tea Bagging event could be a plant will ratchet the paranoia up so high, it's only a mater of time till they start turning their hate on each other.

The outcome could get really messy and I know I shouldn't enjoy the thought of that ... but these people have been so hateful. The thought of a crowd of them turning their hate and rage on one of their own just seems so fitting.

I sorry, but you're making me warm to this idea. The infiltrators have sworn off violence. But I'm pretty sure most Teabaggers have not. It would be poetic justice to see some of tham start going off on each other just based on mutual suspicion. They're already prone to that sort of thuggery.

After thinking about this for a while, I am forced to agree with you. And as much as it pains me to say this, I am forced to agree with some of the Conservatives commenting on this post, too.

Messing with someone else's expression of free speech is disrespectful of the idea of free speech. The fact that for some of the Teabaggers its more like an excretion of free speech is beside the point.

He, along with many others (more than you know) are not saying that the Feds were involved, they just want a REAL investigation as the 9/11 commision themselves stated in a press release that they were warned NOT to go too far in their investigation. We just want to know why. That's not too much to ask is it? The truth of what happened and why the cover up.

When the government and media make "Truther" a bad word, I think you need to look a little deeper. Painting the critics as "crazy" and "conspiracy theorists" is how they smokescreen what they are doing. I don't know what really happened on 9/11 but I do know that the report on it was complete B.S.

No, the infiltrators HAVEN'T "sworn off violence." They've only CLAIMED to do so, which sets up their acts of violence, after which they'll point to "oh, no, we're just infiltrating, not being violent" in a foolish attempt to give themselves cover.

I'm pleased as punch that this Jason Levin dimwit was actually stupid enough to ANNOUNCE his plans to do this, because if I'm the Tea Party folks I'm planning on attributing every loop-job to Levin's "crash" movement. Thanks, Jase! With people like you leading the left, the GOP will pick up about 120 seats in November.

In fact, after thinking about it for a bit - I realized you wouldn't even have to "act out" to disrupt a Tea Bagger event.

Just go with a friend and indignantly discuss (loud enough to be heard by those standing just around you) the "party crasher" that has been identified on the other side of the crowd, how "unAmerican they are" how they out to be "boo-ed" out of here by the crowd. Maybe even describe (generically) a few of the Tea Baggers you have seen in the crowd.

Then go to the other side and have a similar discussion before remarking that you guys want to leave before they start throwing eggs. Shouldn't take long before the rumors sweep the crowd and chaos takes hold.

It is possible that this will work - to the extent that progressives will remain blind to the the fact that they have entirely alienated and greatly angered the right and center of this country.
But for the majority of who identify with the anger of the Tea Partiers, you have just made it much easier for us to discount the bad press and fringe elements. We already know that the media completely misrepresents and even falsifies stories about non-progressive protests - the "Kill Him" and purported rally violence during the election cycle, the non-existent spittle and racial epitaph incidents at the capitol, .....
Now whatever craziness occurs at Tea Parties is obviously the work of progressive infiltrators.
Worse still you have given the Tea Party groups a rationale for policing their own events - and evicting the extremists - again they are really just infiltrators.
Even if confrontations with the loons turn violent - it still can be blamed on the progressive saboteurs.
The public has already perceived that the Tea Parties are being misrepresented. Now they have an explanation.
Further there were reports of just such an infiltration plot and Democrats were denying it, and trying to portray it as paranoia. It is not paranoia when someone admits they are out to get you.
Finally, there are crazies out of every persuasion. Lunatics and hate mongers are not the invention or exclusive domain of tea parties or the right. Rather than focus on the existence of a few nutcases - regardless of whether they are real or fake, you may wish to ponder why so much of the political middle is angry with progressives ? For those of you who think tea parties are a GOP conspiracy - all too many of us are only less unhappy with the GOP. They may have brought us here, but they did not triple down on recklessness. The tea parties are an ultimatum to republicans - "return to limited government, or remain irrelevant". To progressives the message is "you are so out of step you can not be saved"

Why are you Democrats so afraid of the Tea Party movement? The MSM has libeled the group by falsely accusing them of being racist. I am a black man in America and I am a member of the Tea Party and have visited 4 different rallies. I have never had anything but a good time discussing issues with fellow Americans. Provacateurs like this nerd Jason Levin are the only ones who would shout anything remotely racist. I wish Jason would have a debate with myself and my fellow Americans. But I am sure he is a pathetic excuse for a real American. I am sure he loves Obama and anything else MSNBC and CNBC tell him is the truth. Democrats and Republicans are bought and paid for two sides to the same coin. WAKE UP!!!

I am intrigued that you feel at home among the teapartiers. I have not heard too much in the way of support for the TP from anyone but white people. TPers' views on social issues seem to me to indicate a deep suspicion of people of color, in particular the uniquely bizarre personal suspicions about Barack Obama.

The arguments don't make sense to me (no socialized medicine /hands off my medicare, etc), unless I factor in what appears to be a general freakout over a Black president. Just my 2 cents, in answer to your question.

But tell me this, if you'd be so kind, why is is that you are attracted to the tea party and not to libertarianism? This has been on my mind all day. Thanks.

This article bares little or no relation to the facts. Jason Levin has been suspended from his job as a teacher in Beaverton, Oregon because of his behavior. He was advocating crimes involving gathering signatures for fraudulent resasons and identity theft, a felony in Oregon. The original suspension is for an investigation of how his extremist ideas affect his teaching. However, a teacher advocating a crime can be sanctioned up to and including termination.

This is how a lot of them operate. What Levin is doing is borderline fascistic: he's trying to stifle debate rather than encourage it.

If you're a Dem partisan hack, what he's doing is great.

If you care about the future of the U.S. and you want to see debate and not attempts to stifle it, then what he's doing (and what TPM is helping him with) isn't so great.

And, all of this is happening despite how easy it would be to discredit the tea partiers, if only the Dems weren't almost as dumb as they are.

Every right is limited by inextricably entwined responsibility. That applies also to freedom of speech. And in some instances, the responsibility part of it is enforced.

One can choose to be responsible; or one can choose to undermine the equivalent right in others by lying, smearing, making absurd allegations, and doing anything but discuss and debate.

If you have a right not to be defrauded by means of lying, then the lying is indefensible.

Any attempts I have had with debating (or just discussing) Tea Baggers ends in them simply spewing forth talking points. When you ask for details they change the topic. When you corner them with facts, they resort to talking about how awful Bill Clinton was.

Tea Baggers have no interest in debate.

If you do not realize that i twas an illegal act, I guess there is no way to rationally discuss the issue with you. Breaking the law is never right. But this guy is going to join a bunch of people acting nutty and he is going to act nutty. Not illegal at all. But it does not surprise me that far right folks do not get the truly illegal nature of the visit to the Senator's office. It was totally criminal in fact! It is that double standard that is ruining our Republican Party in this neocon era. You may find that you have chased away all the moderate Republicans and then, let us see how many elections you win?

Aw gee, why dump on the idea of tea-bagging the tea baggers?

They come out to cause disruption and you want to argue that it is bad and evul if we disrupt them? If they don't like the signs carried they can come object. They lie about what we are saying and doing and you have a problem if we lie about them?

They claim that they are not responsible for the signs the crazies in their crowd carry. Okay then, why should they object to our signs? If they police the signs and censor ours but not the racist ones this shows that they didn't have a problem with the racist ones in the first place.

I'd rather have a sane discussion but if you are going to complain that HCR has death panels I'll maintain that you think HCR kills cats because they carry diseases. Save the puppies from HCR!

Don't seem to like your own medicine much, do you?

"They lie about what we are saying and doing and you have a problem if we lie about them?"

Yes. Two wrongs don't make a right, but it's a matter of degree. Satirizing them is one thing, although really it's too easy--low-hanging fruit. But actually stooping to their level makes us no better than them. Two wrongs don't make a right.

The 'you' in the post is Shooter who is basically a tea-bag and the intention was to point out to him the degree to which he was demanding that we play by different rules than he applied to himself. The Tea baggers generally have been disclaiming the more offensive of their signs but these are, I judge, in fact the opinions of a significant portion of the Tea Baggers both as shown by the polls recounted over at 538 and the emails sent by their dear leader over in NY.

I react badly to situations in which there is one set of rules for one side and another for the other. I did hesitate before posting this because you are in fact correct that two wrongs don't make a right.

The tea partiers impact public opinion. Look at the health care debate. The American public agrees with most elements of the health care proposals. Yet, once the tea partiers crashed Congressional town halls, support for the bills tanked.

Yes, they are radical. Yes they seem outside of the mainstream. But, yes, they are influential. How did Scott Brown win? Anything the counter-demonstrations can do to make them less influential is great, from my perspective.

The majority of the comments on this page read like there from a bunch of silly petty children. If the Tea Party is as bad as you say they are, why do you need to resort to trickery to discredit them. Could it be your intimidated by them? And what about our most basic of values called free speech. Is this what the Obama election has turned us into. Pretty disgusting if you ask me.

First off, this is redundant, like trying to warm the sun. YOU CAN'T TROLL FREE REPUBLIC. IT'S ALREADY MADE OF TROLL.

Second off, simply by publicly announcing he's going to do this he defeats his own very tiny purpose, because the impact of tea party madness is muted. Tea partiers ALREADY try to brush off their own crazy elements by pretending that they're actually INFILTRATING LIBERAL SPIES, the existence of one self-proclaimed INFILTRATING LIBERAL SPY that they can point to in a chain e-mail will instantly prove to them no tea partiers have ever done anything embarrassing ever.

Exactly. Thank you.

This will be proof, proof positive, that any bad act committed by a teabagger was actual committed by an agent of ACORN or Goldstein or S.P.E.C.T.R.E. or whoever. These idiots have just given the baggers a free pass for what would otherwise be movement-destroying excesses that will inevitably come.

Indeed, now that these fools have validated their paranoia, I expect the idea that the Teabaggers were infiltrated by SMERSH or THRUSH or the DNC Special Commando units or whoever will become so firmly embedded in the wingnut worldview that it'll be required material for Texas school textbooks within the next three years.

The genius of announcing it is that they won't need that many infiltrators- the wackos won't know who is or isn't a spy and will have to suspect everyone but the truly dangerous ones.

This should cause greater internal turmoil as true tea partiers get accused of being infiltrator trolls.

To wit: Authentic Crazy Teabagger "John Birch" shows up with a misspelled sign saying Obama wants to perform "retreoactivist abortatations" on your "grammaw" and that he learned it when he went to "Muslin skool" in "Africanibia" where he was born. Other teabagger can point to Levin's "charade" and say that "John Birch" is just a plant, when the truth is that he represents more than 65% of the true tea party position.

Maybe I'm a little gruff with this one but please read. I think our time is better spent at standing up to it rather than infiltrating.

So now Fox and Co can say any racist sign is just a liberal infiltrator? Of course Fox is already saying that anyways.

Or Levin has no plans to infiltrate, but will make tea baggers turn on each other, because they'll be accusing each other of being phony plants and it will tear apart from the inside.

Maybe they'll give out membership cards to teabaggers to guard against this.

Completely aside from the electoral politics, I think it would be a good thing if Fox and the Teabaggers would stop glorifying racism, biggotry, and violence.

Teabaggers have been operating in an environment where each was trying to out-outrage the other - this has resulted in an environment where the more outrageous your claim the more of a hero you could be.

Now, maybe, if someone says they are going to take a gun and start killing people, maybe, just maybe some Teabags will think he's a plant and call the police on him.

It will make the Teabags less frightening to a lot of people, but it would reduce the feeling of rightiousness (perception of popular support) felt by the crazies that have started to come out of the wood-work.

Aside from what this may or may not do to the narrative that Fox puts out, it will encourage Teabags to hold up a mirror an ask if t

Way to indulge in stereotyping. Agism and size-ism in one fell swoop. I've seen plenty of average-size people in teabagger photos and videos, as well as younger folk. And like Cal Gal says, there are liberals who are on the larger side. (I'll bet you're zaftig, Cal Gal, not "flabby.") As out there as the mindset of most of the 'baggers is, I get really disgusted with these kinds of sweeping generalities about their physical appearance.

Nothing "ingenious" about this plan. If one of their own is potentially a plant they'll think twice about saying some of the stupid shit they do now making them, perhaps over time, seem more reasonable.

No. They are doing a pretty good job of making themselves look like idiots with their "leaders" setting the best example.

You know. . . he doesn't even HAVE to do it, now that it's been publicized-- they will suspect many of their own and maybe turn on each other thinking they are rooting out infiltrators. If a riot or violence does break out he could claim that "we weren't even AT that particular event, in fact we never actually infiltrated, just said we would-- so all the violence is 100% homegrown tea-party madness."

All I really want to know is, if the tea-partiers think things are bad now, if Mccain/Palin had been elected, how would things be different, what exactly would the USA look like? Would it really be better, or just LOOK better to them since Obama isn't in the White House.

My thoughts also. You tell the teabaggers they've been infiltrated, then send sealed letters to the press specifically stating which rallies you WON'T attend (of course, that may not be accurate). Paranoia increases, and you are bound to end up with fights among teabaggers, and if the media, which loves a conflict, does what they do best, they will interview the fighters separately, and each will swear allegiance to being a true teabagging patriot and the OTHER GUY was a plant, making the number of crazies seem double.

Well, I don't really think this will work -- as much as I'm hoping that SOMETHING will stick and discredit the Teabaggers.

One of the main Rethuglican tactics is to rewrite history. For instance, there's a huge movement afoot to deny that anyone called out the N-word at Democratic lawmakers on afternoon of the House vote on the health care bill. Liberal "conspiracies" such as this will only give them more cover for crazy stuff -- another reason not to believe any one of them is really crazy. "It's the liberals who infiltrated us who did the crazy stuff."

But mainly I don't think this will work because too few liberals will really be willing to attend a tea bag event and act like one of the natives. I couldn't stand to do it myself.

So it probably won't work but it probably will work to give the tea baggers some cover.

This incident is truly horrific, and whoever is responsible for it, I hope the police find them and that they are severely punished for it. I sincerely hope it is not someone who purports to be on the left, but whoever it is should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

That said, if there does turn out to be some political motivation, whether it is from the left or from another faction of the right, I still blame the right for the escalation of the rhetoric and the violent imagery they alone have been using in the last year. It is not the left who has been saying things like "target them," "crush them," "wipe them out"; it is not the left talking about revolution and watering the tree of liberty with blood; and it is not the left coming to political rallies sporting guns and signs advocating the use of them against the political opposition. You cannot create such a fevered and angry climate and not expect it to come back and bite you.

There was never any official statement put out by Plotkin that the couple were not wearing Palin pins.

Plotkin is most certainly leaking this false information so that there won't be any copycat attacks by other mouth-breathing, spittle-flecked, sub-human leftards.

They beat a girl. They broke her legs. They gave her a concussion. they broke her jaw.

Why are leftard animals such cowards. They had to have a crowd to savagely beat a young woman and hre boyfriend.

What pussies

"UPDATE, 2:15 p.m.: As this story seems to be going viral, I want to put on the brakes a little and see if perhaps we can supply some answers to some of the questions which seem to be popping up regarding this incident.

First, Jindal spokesman Kyle Plotkin tells us that Alle Bautsch was not wearing a Palin pin. And neither was Joe Brown. So that’s an allegation which has been disputed.

Second, as far as the Jindal administration is concerned they do not have evidence at this time that the attack on Bautsch and Brown was directly related to the protest. We have a report, as you’ll see below, that the attack was politically motivated, and we’re looking forward to full confirmation of that fact. But the two are not necessarily at odds; our understanding is that Bautsch and Brown remained at Brennan’s after the fundraiser was over and by the time they left there wasn’t much of a protest going on – so if we’ve given the impression that the attack occurred as a result of fundraiser attendees having to run a gauntlet of Democrats upon leaving the restaurant we’d like to correct that right now; that is not our understanding."

That's copied straight from the article you linked to, 5 minutes ago. Go read it yourself if you can bear to now. I'm sorry to say but the writer of that article has far higher journalistic standards than you do. It was actually a rare pleasure to read. When he didn't know something he said it, and when he was drawing a conclusion he said that too.

Oh and as for your naff statement bullshit, there never was a statement from Plotkin that he WAS wearing a Palin pin either. That means you were talking bullshit, and you are now hiding behind the fact he didn't call a special press conference to say you were wrong, due to him recovering in hospital. Pathetic.

Anyway, I hope he and his girlfriend recover soon.

Me too, Sir T. What troll boy refuses to acknowledge is that we deplore violence and will chastise whoever did this, and perhaps even more so if they call themselves a leftist. As opposed to his side which has a distinct tendency lately to excuse such incidents as being a result of people being "legitimately upset" with their government.

You obviously have information the police don't have, so here you go:

Peoria police are working with the state Department of Public Safety to gather evidence and determine what inspired the incident.

"We don't know whether this was a random act or whether the house was targeted because of who lives in the house," Tellef said.

He said anyone with information should call Peoria police at 623-773-8311.

or if you'd prefer to remain anonymous:

There are no suspects or leads at this time and if anyone has information they are asked to call the Peoria Police Tip Line at 623-773-7045 or Silent Witness.

I just noticed that the "Crash The Tea Party" website (http://www.crashtheteaparty.org/) has a craptastic Web Of Trust score.

I wonder if this is because Tea Partiers are down rating it or it's a front for Malware, or something else strange and wild.

Just putting that out there in case anyone more IT security-savy than myself wants to check it out in more detail. If it has been down-rated for nefarious purposes we need to rate it back up again.

If it is a front for malware it's pretty damn clever and a disappointment as well.

If you have WOT installed rate it back up. For those of us that use WOT, a bad rating is a web browsing show-stopper.

Has anyone thought maybe Levin was full of S, and his entire plan is make teabaggers distrust each other ? I mean seriously, who in their right mind would spend the day with a bunch of idiots protesting paying less taxes then they did last year or the 8 years before that? Much less dress and act like them for some lame point, which Levin doesn't really seem to make.

And, as if the teabaggers need anyone to help them appear completely unhinged, they are doing just fine w/o secret operatives.

Can I also assume that these idiots are either not working and therefore collecting a government handout or too stoooopid to realize that liberals (unions) are the ones who championed paid time off so they could spent the day protesting the evil liberal policies.

Either way, I don't believe for a second anyone could organize liberals in any meaningful way, much less organize them to pretend to be teabaggers for a day. It's just not possible.

Bush II passed an unfunded trillion dollar tax cut for millionaires in his FIRST SIX MONTHS. That took us from a surplus at the end of Clinton's tenure to a trillion dollar deficit in less than a year under a republican president.

The fact of global warming, including its human causes, has been the scientific consensus for going on 30 years.

Time will tell on health care reform, but it's already projected to cut a trillion dollars from the deficit over the next 15-20 years.

The Stimulus (US, Chinese, European, etc.) saved the World Economy from Great Depression II

The 1.3 trillion dollar deficit came from the Republican George W. Bush after he inherited a 300 Billion dollar surplus from the Democrat Bill Clinton.

Cap and Trade has near universal acceptance by the world's leading economists as the best, most market-friendly way to stop runaway CO2 production which has already increased 50% in last 80 years (check out The Economist's essay on the matter, it's a very good read)

Obama/Pelosi/Reid Care finally brings the USA into the 20th Century in regards to Universal Health Care, the very last advanced country to do so, thirty years later than second to last Portugal. The previous insurance-manipulated system not only had the very worse coverage of any advanced country but was 50% - 100% more expensive!!

There, I debated. You lose.

The anger that gave rise to the TEA party was rooted in the bailouts.

Who was president during those bailouts? Bush.

Twist it, turn it, spin it. The fact remains that it started with the bailouts. Fuel was added to the fire by exploding deficits, taxes, welfare expansion and HCR.

Had Obama stopped the bailouts, beat back the Wall street thieves, started reducing the deficit, encouraged job creation and shelved HCR, this president would have been viewed as a national hero. He did not. Instead, he chose the cloak of failure not seen since the Carter administration.

This is a strange idea for TPM to be getting excited about. I agree that the tea party stuff is freakish and hostile and even dangerous. But the concept of infiltrating a group of protesters and trying to up the crazy sounds more dangerous still.

The most likely outcome is that "crashers" will naively incite mob violence and be prosecuted as such. Most of the things they can say that would not have them instantly flagged as plants are things that some subset of Tea Partiers secretly or not-so-secretly believe. That's why the government infiltrated student groups in the 1960s, often quite successfully - because moving the needle towards violence is not that hard when people are pissed.

Difference was, that was the government, and they made sure not to be the spokespeople, because to get caught doing so would be engender enormous sympathy for student protesters. As soon as ordinary citizens are doing it, and trying to be stagey about it, they will make "liberals" look like hypocritical and reckless people who lack a counter-argument and are willing to dupe the general public to serve their own ends and muddle a political message that obviously has some traction.

It is worlds away from the mocking counter-protests of Westboro, and the difference lies in the perceived role of the public in the dialogue.

If the Tea Party itself were actually behind this "infiltration" idea, it would be the smartest thing they've done. But that's the rub- this is level of cynicism about the political process that I'd have expected from the current right-wing leadership, not from the grassroots left.

I guess the most disappointing thing about this idea is that this blog is giving it face time. This is an irresponsible abuse of the political process, trashes freedoms that are supposed to transcend political parties and are not trumped by complaints about media bias, and will incite violence. Grow up, TPM.

Jason Levin doesn't have to actually do anything now that this story has legs, the tea baggers are inherently paraniod as it is, this will feed their mental illness to the extent that they'll be questioning the sincerity of any fellow 'bagger they don't personally know. Jason has cleverly turned their own disturbing tendencies against them. Ya know, they might actually have to start listening to each other's chants, read and comprehend each other's posters and try to separate their 'real' lunacy from the 'faux' lunacy of infiltrators. Some might actually realize the foolishness being spewed and 'bagger protests and slink away in shame.

This is a ridiculous idea, and one that could backfire in unexpected ways. I think publicizing such a stunt is blatantly stupid, and it would only provide cover for authentic instances of hate.

This is not an idea that should be encouraged, and I do wonder about the judgment of these individuals, and anyone supporting them. I certainly don't want them on my team. This is the kind of naive, sloppy strategy that can diminish important gains of public support.

The Tea Party does enough damage to themselves, and acts like this would only give them cover.

This is not quite on topic, but I wonder if the teapartiers realize how much they support China and all the other countries that produce the posters and markers they used to write their signs, the clothing for their costumes, the tea that they are wasting, and even the American flags they're waving around (particularly those tiny ones on the lady's hat in the pic). Perhaps some sewed their costume themselves, but even the fabric was likely produced elsewhere. As well as the thread & needle/sewing machine. If they truly cared about the future of this country they'd stop wasting their money on foreign products and do something to encourage American-made items.

On topic, I agree that this does give the teapartiers & Fox a scapegoat, but on the other hand it might be amusing to watch their paranoia grow.

Maybe the Free Republic is right. Maybe we don't need any infiltrators. I just read the following from FR comments on this story:
The only solution (to infiltrators) "is to beat them up and toss them out on the street corners. The leftists are already convinced that we are violent loons". Violent loons? Why would anybody think that?
(I hope I'm not outing a clever infiltrator).

2 comments suggested that Tea Baggers hold signs with arrows pointing, saying 'infiltrator". The idea being that they stand next to infiltrators and expose them for what they are. The plot thickens. Would they out a person holding a sign saying, "Democrats are morans"? They might want to re-think the arrow thing.

We don't, not now. Hannity et. al. are spreading the word to the 'baggers, that's all that's needed. A movement fueled by paranoia which demands belief in patently ridiculous, alternate-universe 'ideas' is ripe for a stunt like this. It's brilliant. Plant the idea that there's a 'conspiracy' to 'subvert' your patriotic organization by being more outrageous than you yourself! How does one fight that? An arms race of lunacy? Actually questioning the slogans and chants at a 'bagger protest? Make the idiots actually THINK? Begin self-reflection?

Actually, I agree with the sentiment expressed by many that this is a bad idea. It will be counter-productive.

Democrats have nothing to do with this.

Many Tea Party members have legitimate concerns about Wall Street bailouts and a bad economy. Some will vote Democratic. We should offer a better alternative than the Republicans.

But, seriously, these teabaggers have no real legitimate concerns. They do have irrational fears that are being manipulated by others. While they deserve all the ridicule and mocking they can get, doing it through some infiltration scheme like this is a terrible idea and bound to backfire big time.

The more I think about this, the worse this seems.

It's totally improper to play "dirty tricks" to try to defeat a political foe. Of course, like the Swift Boaters and the Willie Horton ads show, sometime dirty tricks do work. But most of the time not. And it's better not to resort to dirty tricks to "win" -- because you haven't won. You've only tricked people.

The Tea Baggers actions should be left to speak for themselves. No amplification is needed.

I'm tired of losing 'clean' while the repugs do everything short of assination, so far, to win. Besides, how declaring up front that you intend to do this thing constitutes 'dirty' is beyond me. Saying you're going to do something is not the same as doing it, and attending a protest with signage that mimics your opponents is hardly immoral, not that I would care if it were.

Wasn't this an old Twilight Zone episode, where the aliens stood on a hill outside town, turning the power on and off in town, and watching the locals start to chew each other up over imagined fears that one of the others was an alien?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Monsters_Are_Due_on_Maple_Street
The closing narration is : "The tools of conquest do not necessarily come with bombs and explosions and fallout. There are weapons that are simply thoughts, attitudes, prejudices, to be found only in the minds of men. For the record, prejudices can kill, and suspicion can destroy, and the thoughtless, frightened search for a scapegoat has a fallout all of its own: for the children, and the children yet unborn. And the pity of it is that these things cannot be confined to the Twilight Zone."

Alien #2: And this pattern is always the same?
Alien #1: With few variations. They pick the most dangerous enemy they can find. And it's themselves. All we need do is sit back and watch.
Alien #2: Then I take it that this place- This "Maple Street" is not unique?

The Tea Party is not monolithic. You may be getting only the TV version. Some people who show up at a Tea Party might have a point of view that is pretty close to yours. Others might be wacko. There are all kinds. I talked to a guy a couple of days ago who went to a rally in Florida. He wasn't a nut. He wasn't a racist. He was very anti-Republican, sort of a Ron Paul type.

So chances are he got a tax cut this year--I don't know many multimillionaire Marines. Not only that, taxpayers have been his sole livelihood as a member of our Armed Services. Not to mention the GI bill which lets him go to school on our dime.

Taxes suck, but they are directly related to the quality of life we have here in America. My guess is that the rally your friend attended was in a public space, taxpayer funded, and however he got there was also taxpayer funded (roads, sidewalks, public transit). And guess what, if you don't want to pay taxes, just make charitable contributions, the government allows you to DEDUCT those, so you can direct your own money to the causes that you support.

Bailouts, that's another story. I would say that the vast majority of Americans and commenters you find here are against Bush's bailouts.

Police, what do you expect? It's a gathering of angry protesters. Police generally turn up for those.

The media will not allow the Tea Parties to be discredited. On any real level.

They are too big a cash cow.

Slow news day? Talk about the tea party. Nobody subscribing to your feed? Throw out a Tea Party post. Hit rate down on your site? Do a Tea Party story. Rating down on your news outlet? Show a Tea Party incident at a town hall.

You get the drill.

The Tea Party on March 22nd (the day HIR passed) had a couple thousand protestors at the capital acting like immature punks. While immigration reform marchers had over 100,000 over at the Mall for immigration reform.

Who got the coverage? The Tea Party. Why? Because they are incendiary. They are the equivalent of a car crash.

If it bleeds, it leads.

As soon as it benefits the media, they will bring the Tea Party down.

And not before.

The Tea Parties are a tempest in a teapot.

The real source of voter anger is the economy. And the bailouts.

Its always the economy.

The best thing about mentioning infiltration of the Teanut movement by progressive pranksters is that no real infiltration has to occur. The paranoia of the Teanuts is so great that, as others here have suggested, they'll begin to suspect each other of being infiltrators.

The best part of the Infiltration Strategy is that it completely changes the storyline.

When the MSM takes the Teabaggers (incredibly) as a legitimate citizens movement (like CNN following the Teabagger Bus with their own CNN Bus) the storyline becomes "People are angry at the (excellently functioning) government of Obama." What the Infiltration Strategy does brings the focus on crazy behavior regardless of who is perpetrating it. And considering that 99% of those who will actually show up will be genuine Teabaggers, 99% of the crazies are Teabaggers themselves.

Brilliant!

I don't like this because it is specifically designed to interfere with a group rather than to counter it with facts and information. ANY group could be attacked in this manner and be harmed by people who really aren't members. But especially open source groups, which I think are the wave of the future, could be damaged by this tactic, no matter how legitimate they are.

Let me know how I can help. The tea baggers are backing JD "I never took a dime from Abramoff" Hayworth, here in Arizona. He's going up against - John "I never said I was a maverick" McCain. McCain is trying to look and act more crazy but Hayworth has already - been there done that - so the tea party bunch just love him.

At first I thought this was a bad idea seeing as how they're already blaming liberal plants for their worst transgressions, but then I thought of the sign I'd like to be carrying at Thursday's Richmond Tea Party:

"Beware of Spyes and Interloopers!"

I'd love to see a sign that said

god says to kill all gays (Leviticus 20:13)

maybe even with the scripture written out

"if a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.(Leviticus 20:13
KJV)

That's an interesting versus. Sounds more like a commentary on the prevailing social attitude than a command. Notice it doesn't say "they must surely be put to death." And who knows, the last line could mean the blood of homosexuals will be on the heads of those who murder them.

This is stupid. Its wrong to interfere with anybody else's privilege of getting their message out. If he wants to set up a counter-protest that's fine.

Lots of commenters on TPM think this is funny and it will be great to set tea partiers turn against each other. But many tea partiers are truly mentally ill. I don't want to see a mentally ill person with a "Nancy Pelosi killed Elvis" sign getting stomped by a mob.

Anger in our country is leading to more violence. Some tea partiers could take this as an excuse to attack libs. They can also infiltrate and disrupt left wing gatherings and play the same trick.

I admit the notion has a certain amount of appeal to the "monkey wrencher" in me but the actual sane part of me realizes that this is a monumentally stupid idea from any number of standpoints.

First, the TEA Partiers don't need any encouragement to make with the crazy. To paraphrase that old dog food commercial, it makes its own crazy.

Second, this is a perfect excuse for them to discount any racist, bigoted, or offensive sign as being the creation of the monkey wrenchers and have it believed by the media.

Third, it's easy to move from a "party crasher" into being an _agent provocateur_ and inciting something tragic.

The reason why the Twitter anti-protest worked is that they took the Westboro stupidity (it's hard to call it anything else) and turned it on its head by laughing at them. Some sort of similar satirical effort could possibly work against the TEA Partiers if done right but, frankly, some of these people are more than a bit unbalanced and getting them riled in such a direct manner is fraught with danger.

We saw the kind of abuse to which they were willing to subject members of Congress and things could easily get out of hand. You're talking about people with guns, low self esteem, and borderline psychosis. That's not a very healthy combination.

I think anyone with a brain in their head will run, not walk, a quickly in the opposite direction from this idiocy as possible.

Yes...I read that and went to the "website" which is a single page with a link to a marketing site. I also went to the Facebook page. This is very likely a hoax. Maybe Levin will earn some money from the sale of t-shirts and such from the link at the bottom of his "website." I think that the right wingers are laughing their heads off at the controversy this has wrought. Now, no matter what the tea partiers do, they can always claim that it was the infiltrators who were trying to embarrass them.

Hi. I'm a young adult female member of the tea party movement because I believe the current rearrangement of healthcare and fiscal irresponsibility of the current administration have created an unsustainable fiscal disaster that I simply cannot support. I believe in individual rights and personal responsibility. I would never do anything as sinister or black-hearted as attending any organized meeting of individuals for the sole purpose of provoking rage. Shame on all of you for supporting such conniving and hateful behavior.
We are all in this boat together, "teabaggers" and "libtards" and "wingnuts" alike. We should all treat each other with respect. If you disagree with the tea party movement, go step in as yourself and engage individuals in logical debates. Not all of us are idiots. Some of us may simply be misinformed, and would prefer to be enlightened than made fun of. If you the one you engage is a "hopeless idiot" move on to the next. You might even learn something in the process.
Just a thought.

Yes you need a magnifying glass to see Obama's contribution, which is following a trend clearly started by the not-a-conservative-really previous president (exaserbated by actually putting that dept om the books) who was following a trend begun by the ultimate "fiscal conservative" president

Nuff said, really.

I should of course mention that some credit Clintons success on the tech boom. The difference that Clinton actually significantly reduced the dept in his boom and Bush in his "boom" barely touched it, even with his creative accounting.

But don't worry, once the tax cuts on the rich (not you) expire that will knock a third off the deficit on its own. That and an improving economy could start the trend of the fiscally irresponsible Clinton years again. Of course it may not, but who wants to go back to those days of fiscal irresponsibility and dept reduction, eh?

http://static.businessinsider.com/image/4bb614577f8b9a1667ae0100/chart-020510-update.gif

Basicly job losses started going down the second Obama was elected.

Now this can be interpreted in a number of ways, such as there was less jobs to lose after The horrific early losses, so the number of jobs imploding had to go down. But can you imagine the reaction if that graph was held up at a tea party rally?

that and the dept graph should tell you something about who is more fiscally effective, or at least has a better record, if you follow the numbers and not the rhetoric.

If your so upset, why is your anger surfacing now. Bush's war that was going to cost nothing has cost at least a trillion dollars. The bank bailout that happened was under his watch. He expanded the federal government far more than anyone since FDR. Where was the protesting then? W's expansion of Medicare prescription bill was nothing but a stunt to get seniors on board his train for the second term. Here is a link that I find useful.

I took a look at the graph and I'm just wondering why the extension of the Bush policies and the stimulus bill don't count as being part of the Obama agenda. If you could clear it up for me I'd appreciate it, as I'm not sure where to find the answer on my own (though I'll try!).

I wasn't politically involved at all before now. I was stuck in planet Kitcha. I guess you could say the health care debate woke me up. It's not that I don't think people should be able to lead healthy lives - I just don't think other people should be forced to pay for the well-being of the masses. Parents ought to take care of their children until they are adults. Adults ought to take care of their aging parents. Those who can't do these things on their own or don't have appropriate caregivers ought to seek help from individuals or charity groups who are willing and able (not forced) to provide for them. Healthcare is STILL just a conglomeration of goods and services that cost money. The great thing about capitalism is that it encourages innovation that tends to yield more affordable methods of providing desirable goods and services.

I say again that I'm very new at understanding politics...but I really LOVE Glenn Beck so far. He seems like a pretty honest and down-to-earth guy who appears to know the facts and does his best to portray them in a straight-forward and well-supported manner. If you want to change this opinion of mine (which will lead me to try to convince my friends and family of the same) please give me reasonably supported reasons (back up your rationale and cite your sources if you can).

The host of the one-page website is a Republican. THIS, AS I POSTED ON THE CRASHTHEPARTY SITE (somewhat proofed, edited since then) ...

I would think it's obvious, but just to point up the problem...

This afternoon that evil afterbirth Hannity gave this site a nice big shout-out. See, he was going at length (with that special excited energy of his that does such violence to the laws of reason and the grammar of English) about how the liberals are infiltrating the Tea Party meetings so as to act out caricatures of "these loyal, patriotic Americans" - so as to paint them as racists and ignorami.

My point being this: in establishing this site, this project (movement, cause, Broderbund ... whatever) to this purpose, all you've really done (other than stroke your own egos) has been to give the Teaheads a beard for their racist, birthist, homophobic pustulations (yes, that’s "PUS-tulations"; not a typo).

And so, now, whenever one of their little speakers-from-the-heart cuts loose with what he's really thinking (I use the word advisedly), or brandishes his sub-literate, mis-spelled "niggar" or "Hoosain oBUMa" Sharpie-scrawled sign at a rally and it gets picked up by the media ... why, clearly it's the work of those hypocritical, Alinsky-inspired socialist-marxist-nazi-hate-America-and-real-Americans saboteurs from CRASH THE TEA PARTY.

And if you don't think that's how they’re going to be spinning it, you’re fools.

Why give them the ammunition, the firm ground for spin traction?

Think about it.

.............

This project is little more than an exercise in self-satisfying self-indulgence.

Put your energy into something productive. Yes, keep your eye on the Baggers; yes, record, note, index, collate, parse - and disseminate - every bit of evidence of their real feelings, real positions, real agenda (for instance, no non-whites allowed) every chance you get.

But, goof and spoof because you think this sort of child's-play will somehow monkey-wrench their movement? You're kidding yourselves.

Have fun.

But grow up a little along the way too, okay?

Just a little.

For your country's sake.

THIS IS GREAT! So now the crashers will try to make the Tea Party members look stupid. But wait... If everyone knows the crashers are at the tea party, now the viewing public will know the stupid signs are from the crashers and not the real tea party members. So the viewing public will ignore the stupid signs (like they have been doing all along) and concentrate on the message of the tea party. Smaller government, less intrusive government, restoring the republic, outing the socialist agenda of this administration and ... oh yea, that the leftists can't win on the merits of the issues, but can only try disingenuous and deceitful tactics to try and taint the tea party members, at the same time drawing attention to themselves as self righteous idiots. BRILLIANT!!!

(Man, those Marxist ideologues are really smart people, huh? Makes you wonder why it always fails.)

The irrational tone of this whole idea is hard to grasp. This guy's attitude stinks ... "Free speech is perfectly ok ... as long as you agree with me." Then he has to pretend to be what he accuses the Tea Parties of being in order to prove that the Tea Parties are what he's pretending to be. What?! And you accuse the folks at the Tea Parities of being wack-jobs?!

This idea of infiltrating another American grass roots movement is sick. What, you can't stand the competition? Very un-American. But what is really pathetic about this is that the "Left" doesn't need provocateurs in order to foment violence. It happens spontaneously on its own! Just disagree with them and watch what happens.

And by the way, I'm not a member of a Tea Party. Been to a few (w/o a sign) to see what it's all about and express my own thoughts on this mess in our country. But I have issue with some of their motives - I'm not interested in Party Politics ... just freedom, the Constitutional way.

The TEA parties have been peaceful from the start. 0 arrests at the 9/12 march. The only violence reported at a TEA party originated from left-wing SEIU thugs. Yup. They beat up an innocent black man selling TEA party flags and buttons.

Should violence erupt at one of these events, the finger of blame will most certainly point to the left.

The Tea Party is already heavily infiltrated by white power militias. If it goes violent, it's because that exactly what these people want. In honor of Tim McVeigh, the nuts will start something. Of course, there could also be law enforcement provocateurs that want to create a mess.

In short, there are a lot of people who want the Tea Party movement to get violent and crazy. Just ask your local KKK branch.

KKK? Talk about paranoia! LOL

Hundreds of thousands of law-abiding, taxpaying citizens have attended TEA parties. Except for a few SEIU beat downs, violence has been a non-existent. Perhaps, the "really scary" TEA partiers are everyday citizens with legitimate concern for the fiscal health of their country. If the TEA party was secretly composed of KKK, don't you think there would have been a few crazy cross burnings or hangings by now?

Be careful what you wish for. Someday, you'll want to exercise your first amendment rights. It would be tragic if they no longer existed.

Oh for fucks sake, I shredded this for you weeks ago. Here it is again ignoramus

http://crooksandliars.com/david-neiwert/faking-victimhood-just-how-hurt-was

"This weekend the righties got all worked up about the supposed "brutality" of union thugs in St. Louis who they say beat up a black conservative tea partier named Kenneth Gladney who came out to protest the Obama health-care plan on Thursday. They even had a big protest the next day, along with a press conference featuring Gladney in a wheelchair.

But take a look at the video of the supposed assault. It enters the scene a bit late -- an SEIU member is already on the ground and appears to be injured, but we can't tell what the cause was. As he's laying there, other SEIU members come to his protection, and one of them pulls down Gladney; both men fall to the pavement. Both quickly get back up. There appears to be little to it. [A section of the video showing the supposed assault is in slow motion.]

Indeed, it's readily apparent that Gladney seems completely unhurt. He wanders out to the crowd, chats with the cameraman, flags down a cop, and saunters back to where police decide to handcuff the man who knocked him down. As you can hear, the man protests that he was just keeping Gladney away from his fallen friend.

The next day, Gladney is at the press conference in a wheelchair. He claims to be too medicated to speak, so his lawyers and fellow tea partiers do it for him.

Does this seem real to you? Sure looks fake to me."

You keep saying the same lie, I'll keep posting the same video of the same attack. But I know you will be back doing this in a few weeks.

And as for your other bullshit claim, there was 100,000 leftwingers marching the same time you had a few thousand TPers hanging around the capitol building with Fox all over them trying to find creative camera angles to make the crowd look bigger. No arrests there either. You can tell because they were not all over the news.

Agreed. It's a bad idea.
However, it's likely to compel the Tea Party organizers to find out just exactly who is coming to their meetings and rallies. They will find that there are some far right nuts that they really don't want to be associated with. There will be a purge.

Ultimately, this purge will be good for the tea baggers. More Repubican party operatives will gain leadership positions.

Levin's stunt will benefit the tea baggers. It will probably drive out some of the truly dangerous elements.

Wall street is doing quite well under this administration.

Whatever happened to screams of "BIG THIS" and "BIG THAT" that once streamed from the left, anti-corporate rant machine? The oil companies are driving up gas prices again,*crickets", Wall Street execs are earning huge bonuses and raking in massive profits, *crickets".

Yet, the little guy is suffering terribly, *crickets".

Correction. The little guy is out on the streets protesting while the left is doing everything possible to shut him up.

Just remember folks... what's sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander. The problem with introducing dirty tactics is that nothing prevents your opponents from using them as well.

Anyone applauding this "party crasher" should consider that Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh, just to name two examples, have far greater reach than Jason Levin ever will. And that for every "Joe the Plumber" who's destroyed there's also a Dan Rather... Van Jones... ACORN...

Many here seem to approve of coarsening the dialogue even further. That's fine. Just don't complain when suddenly your own pet "cause" becomes the target of dirty tricks.

THIS IS GREAT! So now the crashers will try to make the Tea Party members look stupid. But wait.

There's substantial evidence that Jason Levin is a wingnut plant.

No, little matty, it's the WINGNUTS, also known as BIRTHERS, also known as MORONS, who can't debate the issues. They also can't see that their precious Tea Bags have been filled with dried cow manure by their fellow travelers. Naw, they brew it up and drink it down.

All you Tea Baggers have is rank ignorance, ingrained stupidity, bigotry and racism that's ground in like the dirt beneath your fingernails, and a massive little-man-syndrome frustration that's directly related to how you didn't Get Any and Bill Clinton DID.

Funny how many of the posts here supporting Levin have misspelled words in them. How idiotic for Levin to make fun of misspelled Tea Party signs, while so many his supporters can't even get their own spelling right.

All of you who throw around the sexual epithet "teabagger" are weak minded. Your name-calling exposes the limitation of your intellect. Can't fight what someone says with logic? Call them a racist! Can't find the words to express your own ideas? Label them with a sexual slur. Has the Left always been so churlish?

You've convinced yourselves that members of the Tea Party movement are all hicks and yokels, and while it may have its small share, the vast majority are simply hard-working Americans who don't think the way you do and are sick of being dictated to and stolen from by Washington. Grow up people, and defend your ideas with reason, and without the name-calling.

They are crazy enough without any help. Moreover, why give them an in-built excuse for bad behavior. Now anytime some jerk says some awful thing, rather than being able to hold the group accountable for their crazies, they can just say, "he's probably a liberal infiltrator"

PErhaps the alleged prankster really is a rightwinger agitprop genius pretending to be a liberal in order to create an innate, permanent excuse for all tea party misbehavior.

This guy (Jason Levin) is essentially saying that dishonesty is a foolproof political strategy. I wouldn't be so sure about that, but it's astounding that most of the commenters here don't even seem to care that such a strategy is being employed in the first place.

If you have to be deceitful and misrepresent your opponent through lies, exaggerations, and blatant attempts to incite bad behavior (framing), why wouldn't that make you stop to wonder about the justness of your cause? Do you people really care so little how immoral this conspiracy is?

Most republicans are probably horrified by these hatemongers and will want to distance themselves from the idea that they in any way represent their party. If you Liberals weren’t such pathetic morons you would almost be laughable. Also, would you stop calling these people “Tea Baggers?” Tea bagging is something that liberal males do to other liberal males (e.g., Barney Frank was caught tea bagging his male intern in a Capitol building toilet yesterday) and a tea bagger party is what happens when 20 liberal males get together. On the other hand, Tea Partiers are people who pay taxes and are tired of giving handouts to freeloaders on the Left. Anyway, let me get this straight… you imbeciles on the Left actually have to infiltrate Tea Party events and perpetrate acts of idiocy in order to make Tea Partiers appear the way you have painted them? Wow! What acts of genius, integrity and courage!

I know Liberals detest facts, being the compulsive liars that they are, but here are some interesting ones: When over 1.2 million Tea Partiers (or 70,000 if you’re a moronic liberal who can’t count above 21 without his pants being unzipped) attended the 9/12 tax protest in ’09, Capitol police were amazed by how peaceful, respectful and tidy the people were. As a matter of fact, tea partiers left D.C. as clean as they found it and placed garbage where it belongs (i.e., in garbage cans). On the other hand, lazy, slovenly Liberals left over 100 tons of garbage strewn over every square inch of DC after Obama (lying thief) was inaugurated.

If there's anything that screams rational and intelligent thought, it's typing in all caps and accusing someone of homosexuality.

And I'd love to know where "1.2 million" came from, seeing as "hundreds of thousands" is the best the official 9/12 protest website can come up with. Oh wait, Tea Partiers don't actually like looking anything up. That's why Sarah Palin is able to play them like a fiddle, playing up to fears instead of actually spouting facts.

If they were REALLY upset about the way the government spends money, they would have marched on Washington during the years of the Bush Administration, when they straight up lied about how much money would be spent. I guess when you can strap billions of dollars onto an airplane and kill some brown people though, it's okay, so long as people in America can buy still buy their iPods and watch NASCAR.

Well, on many levels I agree with you. I'd like to see a whole lot more fight from the Dems than we ever see.

But if we go your way, then pretty soon we'll have armed goon squads shooting at each other in the streets -- because there will be no holds barred on anything. If we stoop to the level of the Rethugs on everything the whole country is in deep trouble.
