Bill Clinton is heading to Arkansas next Friday to campaign for Sen. Blanche Lincoln (D), who is currently in a tight runoff with Lt. Gov. Bill Halter.
Lincoln spokeswoman Katie Laning Niebaum said the campaign will hold a “countdown to victory” kickoff event next Friday at a to-be-determined location in Little Rock. President Clinton will be there. The goal is “to bring voters back to the polls,” she said.
Even though he’s a supporter of Lincoln, President Obama will not be at the event. He hasn’t visited the Natural State since 2007.
The TPM Poll Average has Lincoln leading Halter 45.2%-45.1% in the June 8 Arkansas’ Democratic Senate runoff.
