Campbell Has Cash Advantage In Final Stretch Of CA GOP Primary

CA Senate candidate Carly Fiorina

Former Rep. Tom Campbell enters the final weeks of the California Republican Senate primary with more campaign cash than the well-heeled former HP CEO Carly Fiorina, according to fundraising numbers filed by both candidates today.

Campbell and Fiorina — the consistent frontrunners in the GOP field — both have less than $1 million to spend in the ultra-expensive California media market in the final push to the June 8 primary.

Campbell has just over $975,000 on hand, according to his FEC reports. Fiorina has $620,000.

The TPM Poll Average for the primary shows Fiorina with 33.1% of the vote, Campbell with 25.4% and tea party favorite Chuck DeVore with 15.4%

Late Update: Fiorina supporters write in to let us know Fiorina lent her campaign $1.9 million of her own money last week, after the FEC filings reflected in today’s reports. So while Campbell ended the fundraising period with more cash on hand, Fiorina’s campaign now claims to have $2.9 million in the bank.
