In an interview with The Hill, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) declared that the military’s ban on gays will be repealed by year’s end.
Pelosi also said that the Democrats will retain their majority in the House this November — “for sure.”
“One thing I know for sure is that Democrats will retain their majority in the House of Representatives,” Pelosi said.
On “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,” Pelosi said, “I don’t have any doubt that ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ will be a memory by the end of this year.”
Though it doesn’t seem like Pelosi has the votes yet, the Speaker said she’s “not going to bring up anything that’s not going to win,” and that she feels “that we’re in a pretty good, strong position.”
As for the midterm elections:
She said there are “more than 200” House Democrats who will be reelected “easily,” but cautioned that she never underestimates her opponents.
Is she pleased with the left’s enthusiasm this election season?
“It’s never enough,” she said. “I always want more.”
