The Clinton Presidential Library this afternoon released a massive batch of emails from Elena Kagan’s inbox when she worked in the White House, the final pages to paint a portrait of President Obama’s Supreme Court nominee.
We’ll be reading through them, but in the meantime you can check out emails Kagan wrote, messages she received and email related to Kagan.
Senate Judiciary Chairman Pat Leahy said in a statement this afternoon following the late-Friday release that members tasked with Kagan’s nomination and the public “have unprecedented access to Elena Kagan’s electronic mail files from her time as a White House attorney.”
“The evaluation of her record and qualifications has been the most open and transparent in history,” said Leahy (D-VT). “There is no chapter from her professional life for which we do not have significant records to review.”
It’s not clear how riveting the material will be. She describes a meeting as “not great, not bad,” and offers her colleagues short responses thanking them for sending information over.
