Surprise South Carolina Democratic Senate nominee Alvin Greene says that documents obtained by the Associated Press that quote his army supervisors as calling him an “ineffective leader” are “ridiculous,” and that “those folks” only “promote the terrorists and the communists.”
As we reported, the AP got a hold of Greene’s Air Force evaluations. The documents question his ability to “adapt to any changes to daily routine,” and to “express thoughts clearly.” The documents also describe multiple “security violations” Greene committed during three years of service, before his honorable discharge.
Last week, Greene told the South Carolina Post and Courier that “those folks are ridiculous” and that “they only promote the terrorists and the communists and I haven’t gotten a promotion since I graduated from college and that’s just what I’m saying.” He explained that Army Major Nidal Hasan, the alleged Fort Hood gunman, was given a promotion while he wasn’t, probably because of his “general background.”
“They dismissed my potential,” Greene said. “They didn’t care what I could do.”
“This is why we need to have things done differently,” he added. “This is why we need to overhaul the military. We need get rid of these folks.”
Greene also complained of “a hostile work environment” in the Air Force, and that his performance review “only concentrates on presenting a negative perception of me by making false statements of my character.”
