The new Rasmussen poll of the Wisconsin Senate race gives Republican businessman Ron Johnson a one-lead over Democratic Sen. Russ Feingold, a major voice for progressives who is currently seeking a fourth term.
The numbers: Johnson 47%, Feingold 46%. Also, Feingold leads the other significant Republican candidate, businessman Dave Westlake, by 51%-37%. In the previous Rasmussen poll from three weeks ago, Feingold led Johnson by 46%-45%, and led Westlake by 47%-41%.
The TPM Poll Average gives Feingold a narrow edge of 45.8%-44.8%, and leading Westlake by 47.8%-38.9%.

How's that strategy of filibustering with the repugs working out for you, Russ? A great motivator for the base to turn out for you in Nov.!

Holy cow, Russ...you better filibuster more!
Obviously the connection between you standing with the GOP obstruction and your poll numbers cratering must be interpreted that way.

This means that Russ Feingold is leading by about 4 points.

By my math, take any Rasmussen poll and +/- 5 points for/against the Democrat. That will normalize the poll!

I remember back in 1998 when then GOP Congressman Mark Neumann pulled ahead of Feingold only to see his advantage evaporate several days later. He peaked too soon. So, I would say this Johnson character has probably done the same thing. Rascrap has tried really, really hard to come up with a way to have Johnson ahead of Feingold. And they finally succeeded. However, I would take it with a grain of salt. A few weeks ago, Rascrap had Roy Blunt ahead of Robin Carnahan in Missouri by 8 or 9 points. Now Rascrap says he is up by only 2. Whatever.
