Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele has a party fundraising event coming up in August that is scheduled to feature a very special guest: Conservative media activist Andrew Breitbart, according to a copy of the invitation exclusively obtained by TPM.
The fundraising event, billed as an "Election Countdown," will take place from August 12-14 in Beverly Hills, California, and will also feature other politicians such as California Lt. Gov. Abel Maldonado, Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, and Nevada Republican gubernatorial nominee Brian Sandoval. Steele and Breitbart are scheduled to co-headline a welcome reception on the first evening, August 12.
It's certainly some odd timing for the RNC to be working closely with Breitbart, who, of course, has made headlines recently for circulating a video clip of then-Department of Agriculture official Shirley Sherrod, an African-American, seeming to tell a story about how she would not help a white farmer who was down on his luck 24 year ago. Sherrod was quickly forced to resign last week. And as it turned out, the full video showed that Sherrod was telling a story about how she ultimately did not discriminate against the farmer -- that this was a great turning point in her own personal story of race relations in the South -- and she did help him. Indeed, the farmer himself has come forward to defend her and discuss their lasting friendship.
Sherrod has since received apologies from Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs and President Obama. Breitbart also said he felt sorry for Sherrod -- despite the fact that he was the one who posted the questionably edited video in the first place.
RNC spokesman Doug Heye confirmed to TPMDC that the event is going on, but declined to comment further on the nature of fundraising events. We asked follow-up questions about whether Breitbart is still confirmed to attend the event, and also asking when this was first scheduled.
Heye did not comment further, but instead only referred us to the earlier confirmation of the event.
The Four Seasons hotel company, which owns the Beverly Wilshire, has also confirmed to TPMDC that the event is booked for those days, but was unable to confirm a guest list.
Andrew Breitbart did not return our requests for comment.
See the invitation here, forwarded to us by a TPM reader.
Additional reporting by Evan McMorris-Santoro.

The saddest part is that notsoBreitbart and his propagandist cohorts, Fox News, are making this work in their favor, according to all of the polls. Sad how propaganda trumps "TRUTH".
I say "notsoBreitbart" but in reality, he's very bright.. he's great at what he does.. the sheeple follow his every word.

Next on the list: the KKK.
Steele will dress up in Mammie/Prissie drag and squawk:"I don't know nuthin' about birthers" to peals of laughter and the N-word by Breitbart and the KKK.
Then Steele will curtsy in his best "thank you, massuh" style and get ready for his next racist performance.

Oh, where to begin?
Breitbart as headliner. (Hint: he won't be talking about truth and reconciliation.)
An horrifically tacky invitation that uses the Hollywood letters sign as its background. (Well, of course. Ever since Saint Ronnie proved that celluloid dreams can come true...)
Wink-wink instructions about circumventing FEC donation limits. (If you have to send two checks that total $60,800, does that mean you get two sets of Republican Regents benefits? For $30,400, what's the difference between Republican Regent and Team 100 benefits? Fellatio vs. hand job?)
What I want to know is why the GOP doesn't have tractor pulls and mud diving in Mississippi as fund raising/get out the vote events. Think of it! Bachmann and Palin in a wet T-shirt wrestling match! Ron Paul judging the cow chip throwing competition! Newt Gingrich speaking on Defense of Marriage! Now that's how you appeal to the voter base (or is it the base voters? I can never be sure.)
No wonder they want to get rid of Steele. The man knows nothing about organizing.

Why is the media machinery, that is outraged at their perception of "blogger inaccuracy", not fuming and hollering at this "journalist" political hack liaison with republicans?

Quite frankly, all three are to be pitied. They are so angry, bitter and hateful that they are ugly looking. My goodness gracious, these people are either on drugs, have some kind of severe mental condition, and in need of some form of medical intervention. Now if they are not sick, then they are demon possessed because ordinary human beings cannot be as wicked as these three characters without being influenced by some other spirit. Take a look at Andrew Breitbart's face, this man seems to be possessed by devils. He, Limbaugh and Beck so hate mankind, that their hatred have pushed them over to the other side. THe loyalty to Breitbart is further evidence that the Republican Party and the conservative is a classic patronage system. As long as you are loyal, and maybe even willing to fall on your sword or ruin your reputation for the cause, you will be cared for. That's what think tanks are for, too.
But if you cross the line, the gravy train ends. That was the lesson learned by those who saw David Frum get fired from the American Enterprise Institute for publicly criticizing GOP policy.
This is one reason why seemingly smart people will say the most incredible stuff- it pays.
Look at Breitbart.

Does anyone have any links or what-not that indicate Breibart or another of his employees did the hack job of editing the Sherrod video? It's clear that the "Big" sites must have caused Sherrod's firing since it was not shown or mentioned elsewhere before she was "ASKED" to resign.

OK, well. The lines are clearly drawn. The Reps have given ample ammunition to the Dems to convince anyone who stands for what, who's not paying attention on his own. The Reps are for
divisiveness, deceit, the rich subsidised by everyone else, taxation only on the poor and middle classes, deregulation to allow the rich to get richer at everyone else's expense, wars that never end with lots of no-bid contracts involved, a shadowy, off-budget security apparatus maybe 1 million strong.
We're not too sure what the Dems stand for but it has to be better than that.

Obviously the problem is as Oliver Stone explains " it's the Jewish dominated media". Funny we didn't hear about this blatant example of outright racism from the media. Anti-Semitism is the new black for the left. Wear it well guy.

The saddest thing about this whole sad affair is that instead of the story being all about Breitbart and his decptive tactics, FAUX News racism and general reichwing douchebaggery, it quickly turned into a tale of all-too-typical Democratic Cowardice. The firing of Sherrod gave the Right a loaded cannon to use against Obama, proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that Dems live in fear of Glen Beck and the rightwing noise machine, and emboldened any wannabe Breitbarts to brew their own special kool-aid for mass consumption. A complete effing disaster.
As for the fundraiser, hell no they aint gonna uninvite Breitbart, he's a hero for taking down ACORN, and that's worth millions in campaign cash in itself. Take a look at fundraising figures for Repug and you'll find that the craziest, lyin'est, and loudest raise the most cash. Sh*t, they'll probably give him a medal now. At least a handjob from Michael Steele, to be sure.

They should invite Shirley Sherrod to redo her racist NAACP rant. That would be good theater watching this hapless dolt blame Breitbart for 0bama overreacting to what he didn't know.
