Sharron Angle is reiterating her opposition to the new health care reform law -- and saying that there is nothing wrong with the American health care system, and that access is not being denied.
From Angle's interview with the local ABC affiliate in Las Vegas:
"I think we get confused a little bit. Our healthcare system is the best in the world. There's nothing wrong with our healthcare system. Our doctors are the best," says Angle.
"But how many people get access to the best healthcare in the world," asks Action News reporter Marco Villarreal.
"The access is not what is being denied. It is the cost that has become prohibitive and that's what we need to address," she answers.
The TPM Poll Average gives Harry Reid a lead of 45.1%-42.7%.

Argh - these people are so dumb. How is she even taken seriously? I want to cry.
Let's just say I GIVE you the argument that we have the best MDs (debatable, but I'll grant it). Fine. That does NOT mean we have the best healthcare system. Repeat with me - quality of MDs does NOT equal quality of the system.
Do us a favor Sharron - Go to the Googles and type the following "US rank health care access" - see what you find. Then visit the WHO website and find out where access ranks vs MD quality when it comes to the robustness of a health care system.....
Ah, silly me, the WHO is one of those fancy pants global socialist organizations - probably hell bent on making us all ride bikes to work! Why would we listen to them. We can make up our own stats!
Either logic escapes these people or they are liars (or perhaps both).

Excellent point - one I often overlook.
I read the statement "our healthcare system" as "The American healthcare system". As you state, what she really means is, "The healthcare system that is used by the people I know and/or care about."
It's easy to be correct when you just cut out the people that disagree with you. For reference, see the Iraq War. Everyone agrees its the best decision. Those that don't - well they are not Patriots.

Yes like Social Security. She may even hate that Blacks now are emancipated and can also vote. No doubt she hates the fact that there is equal protection for all people, even Blacks since the Emancipation Proclamation and the Civil Rights act. Of course all those laid off folks can "just eat cake" when they and hungry whether they are white or black! With no insurance, they can also get sicker and sicker until they have to be admitted to an acute care hospital which runs up hospital costs for all of us. I know that probably bugs this ditzy woman, also. But actually taking care of the less fortunate is a Scriptural idea. So all these Bible thumpers better start reading it and following it's precepts. As a Christian I understand that I owe others the help I am able to share. Novel idea, eh?

Our Sharron hasn't a dishonest bone in her body. She has complete faith in the American people's ability to understand and accept the simple truth of the GOP's message. I don't know why everyone is getting on poor Sharron's case. She's telling the truth. Everyone has access to health care...in the same way as we all have access to a Rolls Royce and a mansion in Manhattan. If you can afford it, you can get it. She says the problem is that the cost has become prohibitive. Who can disagree with that?
The obvious solution is for everyone to become millionaires.

It's a tough call. With Palin, you've got an idiot who feels compelled to ridicule things that she doesn't know or understand. I guess that makes a person look smart to people who are too stupid to know any better.
With Angle, you've got an idiot whose giggly smile is completely incongruous to what she's saying. She could be describing the gassing of Jews in Auschwitz in painstaking detail and she'd still have that silly "Look what I did Mommy" smile on her face.

Okay, Sharron, let's try this. If we take the road that runs past your house and turn it into a toll road, and we set the toll at $1,000 each time you drive on it, by your definition, we're not denying you access to anything. You're free to drive whenever and wherever you want. Happy-go-lucky, free as a bird. Do I have that right?
It's amazing. These idiots scream bloody murder over the idea of raising the top tax rate from 39.1% to 39.6%. But, paying tens of thousands more a year for health care doesn't bother them at all. By golly, it's the principle of the thing!

Good point. It is bazaar that $1000 dollars in taxes to a medical insurance plan is the most horrible thing imaginable, but $2000 in cost to a private insurance plan is just fine. Personally all I care about is my bottom line and what I am getting for my money, as should any good business man. Medicare is run very efficiently; private insurance companies are run very inefficiently. I must surmise that there are very few good business men in the republican party.

The 'best healthcare system in the world' ranks 33rd at keeping newborn infants alive. 32 other countries (including the frickin' Channel Islands) do a better job protecting the lives of these most vulnerable citizens. We hear an awful lot about the unborn in this country, but we largely ignore--to our shame--the already born. How anyone could get up in front of an audience and make the claim that we have the best healthcare in the world in the face of some very appalling statistics is incomprehensible.

She needs to go to a cancer treatment center and look at some of the patients in the eye, the ones who are in financial ruin because of their illness, and tell them there is nothing wrong with our health care system.
She should then go see the family of the girl who died in California because her insurance co. denied her claim for a live-saving transplant. Angle should look her parents in the eyes and tell them our health care system is just wonderful (especially the part about leaving our health care in the hands of for-profit insurance companies).
