Scenes From Tea Party Diversity Day And The Multi-Racial Crowd That Never Was (VIDEOS)

On Saturday, TPM attended the Uni-Tea rally in Philadelphia, with the hopes of witnessing the most diverse Tea Party rally ever.

Unfortunately, the mostly white gathering left us with crushed hopes and broken dreams, though we did manage to capture some good video of Tea Partiers trying their darndest to rally the multi-racial crowd that never was…

Here’s Big Government founder Andrew Breitbart talking about the evils of JournoList, and the media “cabal” that conspires to paint Tea Partiers as racists:

Conservative band “The Bangers,” all veterans, rock out with lyrics like “I love my star-spangled freedom”:

Blogger Vanessa Jean King, who spoke at the event, discusses what the “predominantly white” Tea Party can do to reach out to minorities:

Pastor Bill Devlin quoted DMX: “We need to go to those that believe that the tea party is something else, and we need to go and say to them ‘y’all gonna make me lose my mind. Up in here, up in here.’ Then, in this clip, he quotes what he says is the Bible: “Go home and tell your neighbors to get off their ass.” Then he combines the two: “We are a diverse group. Can I get an Amen on that — somewhere up in here?”

Conservative white rapper Hi-Caliber was also among the performers. Sample lyrics: “Money for all, that’s political prostitution. It’s all a big lie like the theory of evolution”:

And, because it’s hilarious, a super quick video of Andrew Breitbart doing an intensely awkward photo op with Hi-Caliber:
