Tea Party Nation Asks: Has An Illegal Immigrant Taken Advantage Of You?

Well, one thing that seems to be pretty much guaranteed, not to many latinos will be voting republican. Unabashed racism.

Just don't ask for stories from among the GOP, Democrats, and everyone else about who has exploited the low cost of immigrant labor in order to clean their homes, mow their lawns, etc. Not sure data storage capacities are large enough for that.

This one time some illegal aliens in a flying saucer kidnapped me and subjected me to painful and humiliating experiments/probing, after which they took my job and ran over my dog (they had a special purpose earth vehicle for this).

I'm pretty sure they were Mexican, because of the beady eyes and the fact that they didn't talk American.

Once, I knew this guy whose sister had a boyfriend and his brother worked at Dunkin' Donuts. And like, he said one time this real shiny Ford Taurus packed full of these pasty white people pulled up to the drive through window and ordered some coffee and a dozen doughnuts. And when they spoke, they sort of had a funny accent and ended every sentence with "aye".

And like when they went to pay, they gave the dude some weird looking money with some bitch wearing a crown and a beaver on the back. He just knew they were illegals. Maybe from Vermont or Canada. Yeah... man that was close. He thought they were going to jack him right there.

Take back our country!! Put a fence in the ocean to keep them Canadians out.

My gardener once said he'd be at my house by 9 AM and didn't show up until 10:30. That was like a crime!

I was at a gas station and the person behind the counter was a Latino and they over charged me by a penny! Does that count?

Oh wait...I have a story!!! My wingnut sister, who lives in Arizona, and is totally anti-immigrant and anti-"Mexican", always proposes hiring a "cheap illegal" whenever she or the family need some major cleanup or land-clearing or moving done. SEE HOW ILLEGALS HAVE INVADED HER BRAIN!!!

The busboy at the Pollo Loco refused to bring me more chips 'n' salsa. AND I heard people speakin' Spanish in teh kitchen. Also.

I'll admit I've been taken advantage of by illegal immigrants on several occasions. For instance, I eat at a Mexican restaurant once a week and my favorite waitress (who I happen to know is in this country illegally) is so nice to us and provides such great service that we nearly always over-tip her. Very clever, these illegal immigrants: work hard and treat people like family and they'll give you a nice tip. One time she went back to Mexico to see her family, and when she returned she brought back a present for my wife and me. Think I didn't notice? Oh no, I'm on to her blatant routine. She even teaches me Spanish (for free, of course) in an attempt to "assimilate" me into her illegal immigrant culture. So yeah, it happens. Believe me, it happens.

My finger is sore from have to "Press 1 for English" all the time!

Both my cousin in New Jersey and my step-brother in North Carolina have run into financial problems because of illegal immigrants, or at least because of competition that could outbid them because they used illegal workers. My cousin gave up his residential concrete business because he couldn't compete paying his people on-the-books reasonable wages against people who hired illegal day laborers. My step-brother is still building houses in North Carolina, but again, he's having problems competing against people who pay illegals half of what he pays his guys.

On the other hand, at a restaurant where my wife used to work, they finally ended up hiring an illegal immigrant as a potwasher because they couldn't find anyone else to do it, even at $10/hr.

Has A Legal Goober Taken Advantage Of You?

Well, once when I was playing poker this (what looked like)a legal goober was picking his nose (at the card table)and his finger got stuck up his nose. His uncle (who was also his father) help his grandson/son(?) pull his finger out of his nose, then proceeded to have a few more boiled peanuts,washed it down with a Mountain Due before pushing all-in with his chips. It was a tough decision for me but I decided to fold my hand - due to sanitary issues.

Does this qualify as being taken advantage of?

The food at one of my favorite Mexican restaurants has declined slightly in quality and variety since the economy went sour.
It's still very good, but not like it was when they first opened.

Also, I once ordered a burrito without beans at el pollo loco and they put beans in it!!? Are they trying to kill us real American's with indigestion? I bet all those brownies in there were illegal.

This whole chain of response is less than brilliant. Illegal construction workers have displace tens of thousands of American workers. A large portion of those workers are black. Isn't it racist to prefer someone of lighter brown skin to someone of darker? Don't we as a society owe more by way of job opportunities to black citizens than to Mexican non-citizens?

Pretending there's no problem with illegal workers is just ignorant. The simplistic "close the border" answer is also ignorant. The real answers are complex, and won't make anyone totally happy. Can America even find real answers to problems any more?

I normally ride my bike to the light-rail station and then take the train out to my work. There are pegs on the train to hang your bike up. Because I catch a 6:30 train, there's almost always a peg for me to hang up my bike which allows me to take a seat (in view of my bike, of course) drink my coffee and check my email on my laptop. Well, Tuesday I got on the train and all FOUR pegs were already taken. Two of the guys were speaking Spanish. I had to stand--STAND!--for the first 15 minutes of my 75 minute commute. They were probably illegals. So all I could do is stand there, listening to an audiobook, while holding my bike with one hand and a rail with the other. I didn't even get to drink my coffee ! I didn't want to stand, I wanted to sit and these illegals took my bike peg AND my seat! Why these people can steal the bike peg from honest, hard working Americans like myself is beyond me. I bet they don't even HAVE bicycles in Mexico!

According to your reasoning, they may invite fellow Iranians to help them exterminate the rest of the Murkns or so many as doesn't matter, and then invite Syrians, Afghans, Indians, Lebanese, Egytians, etc., to join them. When Murkns who fled to Canada (like the Mexicans who fled to Mexico from Arizona during the "Mexican War") attempt to return, they are told they are "illegal immigrants."
So the argument goes, "Might Makes Right." Germany had every right to Austria and Czechoslovakia because it was more powerful. It got in trouble when it took on even more powerful nations. As long as you can murder enough people, you have the right to anything you want.
I like the parallel. Hitler got rid of a lot of Jews. Mrkns got rid of a lot of littler, browner people over 3 ½ centuries.
