Sen. David Vitter (R-LA) responded to Rep.Charlie Melancon’s (D-LA) television advertisement with one of his own today, hitting back hard at Melancon’s allegations that Vitter “hasn’t been honest” with Louisiana. Unlike Melancon, though, Vitter relied on a scary voice-over to attack his opponent.
Tracked to some scary background music, a woman tells listeners:
The next time you think you just can’t work any harder, remember Charlie Melancon. Melancon voted to use your money for bailouts for Wall Street millionaires. Melancon voted to use your money for benefits for illegals. And he used your money to get himself a luxury SUV. So keep up the hard work! Millionaires, illegals and Charlie Melancon are counting on you.
The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports that, like Melancon’s, Vitter’s ad isn’t running in the more expensive New Orleans or Baton Rouge media markets.
