Dem Ads Hammer McMahon As ‘Bad CEO’ (VIDEO)

From a DSCC ad,

Democrats have unloaded some new attack ads against Linda McMahon in the Connecticut Senate race, which has been getting close in recent weeks.

A spot from the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee

“The kind of CEO Linda McMahon was, is the kind of Senator she’d be. As CEO, McMahon laid off workers, yet took millions in bonuses. No wonder she opposes Wall Street reform. McMahon spent thousands on lobbyists to get millions in tax breaks for herself. Of course she’s supporting more corporate tax breaks as Senator. Linda McMahon — a bad CEO — a worse Senator.”

Another ad from Democratic nominee Richard Blumenthal also goes after McMahon’s corporate record, and hammers her for recent comments that some have interpreted to mean she would favor lowering the minimum wage. (McMahon’s campaign said she was merely expressing skepticism about increases in the wage at the present time.)

“She took $10 million from the state to create jobs, but fired 10 percent of her workers,” the announcer says, also adding: “Her business is under investigation for failing to pay Social Security, Medicare or unemployment. She took home $36 million, and now she’s talking about lowering the minimum wage.”

The TPM Poll Average gives Blumenthal a lead of 49.7%-44.6%.
