Sanders: Republicans ‘Do Not Want America To Succeed’
Appearing on Face The Nation, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) accused Republicans of deliberately blocking legislation in order to stop job creation, and thus improve their chances in the election. “I think in his heart the president is a very, very decent guy; he wants to do what most Americans want him to do: To reach out, bring people together,” said Sanders. “But what has happened is the Republicans have said ‘no, no, no.’ They have waged more filibusters than any time in the history of this country. They have been the party of ‘no’ and obstructionism. At some point, what the president has got to understand [is] they do not want America to succeed. They’re into politics.”

Richardson: Dems Should Take On Tea Party
Appearing on Face The Nation, Gov. Bill Richardson (D-NM) said that Democrats should more forcefully take on the Tea Party movement. “For some reason everyone is scared of them,” said Richardson. “What they really want to do to this country, when they talk about reducing deficits, is they’re cutting into Medicare, Medicaid, firefighters, teachers, nurses, people’s benefits, Social Security. I think it’s important that we not be defensive, that we be strong, but we have to unify and stop the internal carping.”

Rand Paul: Jack Conway Needs To ‘Either Defend His President Or Run Away’
Appearing in a Kentucky Senate race debate on Fox News Sunday, Republican nominee Rand Paul accused Democratic nominee Jack Conway of backing away from President Obama after having previously supported him: “What he needs to do is either defend his president or run away — so far he’s running away from President Obama and the agenda.”

Jack Conway: ‘I Want To Fix Health Care,’ Rand Paul Wants To Repeal It
Appearing in a Kentucky Senate race debate on Fox News Sunday, Democratic candidate Jack Conway touted the benefits of the new health care law, with its package of patient consumer protections, and attacked his Republican opponent Rand Paul. “I want to fix health care. He wants to repeal it,” Conway said. “I think that’s a stark difference.”

Cornyn: ‘It’s Going To Be A Wave Election’
Appearing on State of the Union, National Republican Senatorial Committee chairman John Cornyn (R-TX) predicted a strong result for Republicans this November. “It’s going to be a wave election,” said Cornyn. “I don’t know how high or how wide the tsunami will be, but I think it will be significant.”

Menendez: GOP Takeover Wave ‘Will Not Happen’
Appearing on State of the Union, Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee chairman Robert Menendez (D-NJ) downplayed the expected Republican gains. “The midterm election history of the president’s party going back to the civil war means the president’s party loses seats but the difference between a tsunami and losing some seats is the suggestion that they can take over the majority,” said Menendez. “That will not happen.”

Daisy Khan: ‘The Moderates Are Speaking Out’
Appearing on This Week, Park 51 organizer Daisy Khan spoke of her efforts to promote moderate Islam: “Well, the moderates are speaking out. I happen to be one of them. I was devastated by the event of 9/11 and I had to quit my corporate career — a lucrative corporate career to ensure that we would create a counter-momentum against extremism so that another 9/11 does not ever happen again.”

Franklin Graham: ‘Majority Of Mosques’ In America ‘Have Been Hijacked’
Appearing on This Week, Franklin Graham said: “Alright, Pew Research researched the young males coming out of mosques in America, and they went across the United States, between 18 and 33, that one out of four agreed with suicide bombings. Now, this is Pew Research. It’s not my — these are not my numbers. You can check it for yourself. This is a frightening statistic. And I believe the mosques in America — the majority of the mosques in this country have been hijacked by the radicals and Islamists who want to destroy this country.”
