Napolitano Thanks TSA Staff For Hard Work
The Hill reports: “Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano thanked TSA workers for their vigilance and hard work on Tuesday afternoon…In a letter to TSA employees on Tuesday, a day before one of the busiest travel days in the country, Napolitano acknowledged the hardships of their job and said that the country was counting on them to keep them safe.”
Obama’s Day Ahead
President Obama will receive the presidential daily briefing at 9:30 a.m ET. He will pardon the National Thanksgiving Turkey at 10:30 a.m. ET. He will meet at 11:30 a.m. ET with Secretary of Defense Robert Gates. At 4:20 p.m. ET, the First Family will participate in a service event.
Palin Book Fuels Speculation Of White House Bid
The AFP reports: “Sarah Palin kicked off a publicity tour to promote a new book widely seen as a campaign manifesto ahead of a possible challenge to Barack Obama for the presidency in 2012…She began her 16-stop book tour in Phoenix, Arizona — home state of 2008 Republican challenger John McCain, who plucked her from the relative obscurity of Alaskan state politics to be his presidential running-mate in 2008.”
Remake Of Obama Economic Team Broadens Scope
The New York Times reports: “The departure of a number of administration officials is giving President Obama broader scope to remake his economic team even as the White House prepares to carry out a long-planned shuffle involving two of his closest political advisers.”
Joe Lieberman Left With Limited 2012 Options
Politico reports: “Joe Lieberman essentially has two options for 2012: Retire or become a Republican. The Connecticut senator and Democratic exile hasn’t made up his mind whether to seek a fifth term, Lieberman and those close to him say. But if he does, the GOP ticket appears to offer his best shot at reelection. ‘That’s his only hope,’ said John Olsen, president of the Connecticut AFL-CIO and a former state Democratic chairman. Even that, Olsen and others involved in Connecticut politics say, looks like a long shot.”
George W. Bush Memoir Has Sold 1.1 Million Copies
The Associated Press reports: “George W. Bush has joined Bill Clinton and Barack Obama in an exclusive club: presidential authors who have sold at least a million copies of their books. The Crown Publishing Group announced Wednesday that Bush’s memoir, “Decision Points,” has sold more than 1.1 million copies. It was released Nov. 9.”
