Politico reports that Giffords (D-AZ) will be moved from the University Medical Center in Tucson to Houston’s Institute of Rehabilitation and Research at Memorial Hermann hospital. “The facility specializes in helping people recuperate from brain injuries,” Politico reports.
On Sunday, Giffords’ condition was upgraded from critical to serious, after making an incredible recovery since the shooting on January 8th. President Obama said in his remarks in Tucson last Wednesday that Giffords had just opened her eyes for the first time.
