Rick Santorum: I Would Eliminate The ‘Rogue’ 9th Circuit Court Of Appeals

Rick Santorum stopped by at a Myrtle Beach Tea Party event yesterday in South Carolina, and assured the group that he “would sign a bill tomorrow to eliminate the 9th Circuit [Court of Appeals]. That court is rogue. It’s a pox on the western part of our country.”

According to Gina Vasselli of the SunNews.com, Santorum said that he thinks the federal government has “overstepped its bounds” and that the courts have acquired too much power. “The courts were supposed to be the most insignificant branch of the government,” he said.

Here’s video from the appearance, though the quotes about the 9th circuit aren’t contained in it. Pay special attention to the 3:55 mark where Santorum starts talking about health care reform, and chastises President Obama for not being deferential enough…to the courts:
