Santorum: WI Protesters Are ‘Acting Like Their Drug Is Being Taken Away’

Fmr. Sen. Rick Santorum (R-PA)

Former Pennsylvania Senator and potential 2012 presidential candidate Rick Santorum doesn’t have a very high opinion of the union workers protesting in Wisconsin. “They are acting like their drug is being taken away from them,” Santorum told Republicans in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

Stephen Largen of the Spartanburg Herald-Journal reports that Santorum, speaking to a group of about 60 people on Monday night, also criticized entitlement programs and health care reform: “What these folks are in Washington is no better than a drug dealer,” he said, adding: “They give you a subtle narcotic to make you feel better as you do worse.”
