Appearing on “Fox & Friends” Friday morning, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker issued a challenge to the 14 Democratic state Senators who staged a walkout Thursday, daring them to return to the Capitol by the end of the day.
“I’m actually going to show up and do my job, unlike those state senators,” Walker said at the end of the interview. “I’m in the Capitol doing my job. I’m daring them to come back and do what they’re supposed to do, what they were elected to do and what I hope they will do by the end of the day.”
Protests resumed in Madison, Wisc. on Friday, as government employees and their supporters continued to turn out in the thousands to demonstrate against Walker’s proposal that would strip most state government workers of their collective bargaining rights. The Democrats’ walkout prevented a vote on the proposal.
