Trump Goes Full Birther: ‘I Am Really Concerned’ Obama Not Born In USA

Donald Trump

Donald Trump tripled (quadrupled?) down on his emerging birtherism this morning on Fox & Friends, saying that since he first brought up the issue, “all of a sudden, a lot of facts are emerging and I’m starting to wonder myself whether or not he was born in this country.”

Trump was on Fox News to discuss a recent blow-up between him and Whoopi Goldberg over the issue on The View. Goldberg suggested that this issue was about race, because she’s “never heard any white President” being asked to produce a birth certificate in the same way.

Trump called it “insulting” that Goldberg characterized it this way, and asked: “What does that have to do with race?”

He continued: “Now, this guy either has a birth certificate or he doesn’t. And I didn’t think this was such a big deal, but I will tell you, it’s turning out to be a very big deal because people now are calling me from all over saying, please don’t give up on this issue. If you weren’t born in this country, you can not be president.”

When asked if he thought Obama was born in this country, Trump replied: “I am really concerned.” He also suggested that since the birth announcement was placed in the paper “days after [Obama] was born],” he “could have come into the country and [placed the ad] for social reasons.”

Trump also said he doesn’t buy that Hawaii Gov. Neil Abercrombie (D) remembers when Obama was born, like he has previously said. “I think this guy should be investigated,” Trump said. “I doubt it. He remembers when Obama was born? Give me a break! He’s just trying to do something for his party.”
