Tim Pawlenty: Going To Carolina In His Voice? (AUDIO)

Former Gov. Tim Pawlenty (R-MN)

Forget the “T-Paw vs. Hee-Haw” fracas that was kicked up by Bill Kristol, in his attack on Haley Barbour. As Minnesota Public Radio has reported, Tim Pawlenty might be going country, too.

As MPR points out, the lifelong Minnesotan Pawlenty appears to have adopted something of a Southern drawl, at least during certain points in his speeches out of state:

Asked about it after a speech last weekend in New Hampshire, Pawlenty said he sometimes doesn’t “use the exact king’s English.” But he added that he’s not adopting an accent to project a folksy image.

We contacted Pawlenty’s PAC for further comment, but have not received a response.
