Haley Barbour’s Wife: Presidential Bid ‘Horrifies Me’

Gov. Haley Barbour (R-MS) and wife Marsha

Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour’s (R) wife isn’t crazy about her husband’s potential 2012 plans.

In fact, Marsha Barbour says the idea of him running for president “horrifies me.”

“It’s been a lot to be first lady of the state of Mississippi and this would be 50 times bigger,” she said. “It’s a huge sacrifice for a family to make.”

Marsha Barbour expressed concern over the arduous process of running a presidential campaign, not to mention living through the potential eight years in office during “the last part of our productive lives.”

Haley Barbour hasn’t officially announced a campaign bid, but he’s made a number of high-profile hires, including former Mitt Romney adviser Sally Bradshaw, and is floating an anti-Afghan war platform as of late.

Barbour will reportedly announce his 2012 plans by the end of April.
