A growing number of voices in his own party may be telling him to leave Congress, but embattled Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-NY) says he’s not going anywhere.
Weiner told the New York Post today that stepping down is not an option.
“I’m not,” Weiner said when asked if he planned to resign.
The Post caught up with Weiner outside his lawyer’s office in New York City, where Weiner is while Congress is on recess.
The reporter asked Weiner about his wife’s pregnancy, news of which seemed to hasten some of the calls for Weiner to quit that had already begun following his admission that he lied about sending a sexual photo to a Seattle college student.
“Conversations between my wife and me are private,” Weiner said, “but you know, she’s bearing up well and she’s back at work and she’s doing a great job.”
