Colbert Outraged That Congress Speaks At 10th Grade Level

Stephen Colbert

Stephen Colbert thinks it’s “outrageous” that members of Congress speak at only a 10th grade level. ” And for the congressmen watching at home, Colbert said, “outrageous is a big word meaning ‘Stephen’s surprisey frown.’”

“If the founders knew how stupid Congress has become, they would be pissed,” Colbert said. So the late-night comedy host demanded only the most lofty oration. Because, he said, “if you use big words, no one will know you aren’t doing jack squat.”
