Before reporting on the decriminalization of marijuana in Colorado and Washington, Jon Stewart on Thursday donned a pair of ear muffs to protect his hearing from the deafening cheers.
“I know my audience,” he said. Stewart then played a game of “find the narc” among the cable anchors reporting on the story. NBC News anchor Brian Williams made a joke about cookies. “Williams is going full metal stoner on this,” Stewart said, so he can’t be the narc. Fox and Friends co-host Steve Doocy then referred to smoking weed as getting “potted up.”
“I believe we have our narc,” Stewart said. “Come on, Steve, be cool. It’s weeded up on pot.”
Best of all, though, Stewart said, was how just talking about a marijuana story gives America’s news anchors the giggles.
