Watchdogs File Complaints Against Two More Pro-Romney 'Phantom Companies'

Two campaign-finance watchdogs want the Federal Election Commission and Department of Justice to crack down on the so-called phantom companies that are sprouting up apparently for the sole purpose of allowing anonymous million-dollar donations to the pro-Mitt Romney Restore Our Future Super PAC.

The Campaign Legal Center and Democracy 21 have filed complaints with the FEC and DOJ calling for an investigation into the activities of two companies that appear to have been used to funnel funds to a Super PAC created by former Romney campaign staffers. The complaints come on the heels of a another the two groups filed against the first phantom company, W Spann LLC, was discovered to have masked the true identity of a $1 million mystery donor to Restore Our Future.

Romney Collects $500K From Lobbyist-Bundlers

Mitt Romney, the frontrunner in the GOP presidential primary, has released the names of his top money men -- six lobbyists who have helped him raise a combined half a million dollars or $517,450 to be exact.

The sum is only a fraction of the $18 million Romney raked in during the April-to-June fundraising period, which outgunned his closest Republican rival so far, Tim Pawlenty, by a 9-to-1 margin. The list of six names provides a little sunlight about his political allies.

Sarah Palin's PAC Pays $7K To 'Republican Presidential Travel'

Sarah Palin may not have decided whether she's running for the president yet, but she's certainly traveling like she is.

Palin's political action committee, SarahPAC, paid $6,999 to a business called "Republican Presidential Travel" that is based out of a Washington, D.C. post office box, according to a report filed with the Federal Election Commission on Thursday.
